Situées à la limite des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence et des Hautes-Alpes, ces étendues d'eau s'allongent près de la Durance dans le lit d'anciennes gravières. Certaines sont d'ailleurs encore en cours d'exploitation dans les environs. Au départ de Monêtier-Allemont, c'est un lieu paisible apprécié des promeneurs et des pêcheurs, bordé côté sud par la Durance et au nord par les champs arboricoles au pied du pic de Crigne.
Let's face it now, it isn't everyday we see a genuine example of anti gravity anywhere let alone in agarden is it now? Yet here we have it along with the evidence, and not just any garden - it's in our garden! I know, it's incredible, but its not for sale so don't even go there.
The only other example I can think of is those UFO things that keep turning up on people's phones, but as folks don't believe in those, that makes this little baby unique does it not.
I'll tell you something else, it's totally silent, doesn't make a sound and you can pass your hands all around and underneath it like one of those stage magicians - it doesn't seem to mind. Nor, does it limit itself to any one flowerbed, oh no it moves with it's whims not just the sun, hot border in the morning, vegetable patch in the afternoon - it even followed me into the house one day!
A couple of days after taking this very photo, my wife and I had to pop to the garden centre (we were looking for something inter dimensional) and this little baby kept pace with us for an entire kilometre. It was only as we turned out of our road and my wife put the pedal to the metal that we thought we had lost it - I say 'thought' because when we pulled into the car park at the garden centre about 10 miles away there it was! I don't think anyone else saw it for it was hovering about 50 feet in the air directly over the compost bags, as it did so it slowly rotated and as the sun caught its petals it appeared to change colour - just like one of those bona fide UFOs that don't exist, and when we got home an hour later, there it was, sunning itself next to the garlic. I know, I know, it's incredible, but it isn't for sale so don't even go there....
White Chrysanthemum flower is a symbol purity, innocence and spirituality. This flower can be gifted to almost anyone you find to be an important part of your life. There is no limit when it comes to symbolism of this flower, and its symbolism is not going to send the wrong message to anyone you direct it to.

It is midday now, we are hiking for quite some time. One thing comes to view is that any tree in this environment is lonely. It makes stand in ore and admire persistence and energy to withstand harsh environment. Well done nature.
Snow Bunting - Plectrophenax Nivalis
Snow buntings are large buntings, with striking 'snowy' plumages. Males in summer have all white heads and underparts contrasting with a black mantle and wing tips. Females are a more mottled above. In autumn and winter birds develop a sandy/buff wash to their plumage and males have more mottled upperparts.
Globally, they breed around the arctic from Scandinavia to Alaska, Canada and Greenland and migrate south in winter. They are a scarce breeding species in the UK, in Scotland, making them an Amber List species. They are more widespread in winter in the north and east when residents are joined by continental birds.
They are listed under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife & Countryside Act.
The snow bunting lives in very high latitudes in the Arctic tundra. There is no apparent limit to its northern range, while the southern range is limited by the duration of daylight, which influences their reproductive activity. This species is found in the high Arctic tundra of North America, Ellesmere Island, Iceland, higher mountains of Scotland, Norway, Russia, North Greenland, Siberia, Novaya Zemlya, and Franz Josef Land. During the winter, this bird migrates to the circumglobal northern temperate zone including the south of Canada, north of the United States, north of Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and east to central Asia. During the last ice age, the snow bunting was widespread throughout continental Europe.
During the breeding period the snow bunting looks for rocky habitats in the Arctic Since the vegetation in the tundra is low growing, this bird and its nestlings are exposed to predators, and in order to ensure the survival of its offspring, the snow bunting nests in cavities in order to protect the nestlings from any threat. During this period, buntings also look for a habitat rich in vegetation such as wet sedge meadows and areas rich in dryas and lichens. In the winter, they look for open habitats such as farms and fields where they feed on seeds in the ground.

Just got home from Beaumaris in Anglesey Wales so late with my photo this week. We visited Penmon Lighthouse on a very sunny but cold afternoon, in the lead up to the lighthouse there were very many interesting rock pools so I thought this would be a good idea for a water element. I have cropped the photo down to fit in with the 3" limit.
Brian ensures he keeps his slime-alcohol level below the Scottish legal limit of 0.05%. Because he always drinks responsibly, he is generally the designated crawler when out with his friends.

Espécie símbolo do Pantanal, ele chega a ter 1,40m de comprimento 1,60m de altura, e pesar 8 kg. Pode chegar a quase 3m de envergadura. A grandiosidade desta ave também se expressa pelas construções de seus ninhos. Alguns deles já foram encontrados medindo 3m de diâmetro, sendo construído, algumas vezes, a mais de 25m do chão, nas árvores mais altas do Pantanal.

A l'origine, le domaine faisait partie intégrante de la Forêt de Soignes. En 1833, le marquis Maximilien de Béthune achète 341 ha de forêts, qu'il fait partiellement défricher pour y aménager un parc. Il fait construire trois maisons de garde et deux fermes et entreprend ensuite la construction du château (achevée en 1842), dont il confie la réalisation à l'architecte français Jean-Jacques Nicolas Arveuf-Fransquin et au belge Jean-François Coppens.
Érigé au sommet de la colline, de style néo-renaissance flamand très prisé à l'époque, le château, paré de briques rouges avec des lignes de pierres naturelles, est flanqué de quatre tours et de quatre tourelles. Le terrain marécageux du bas de la colline est transformé en étang.
De 1871 à 1893, le domaine devient la propriété du baron Antoine de Roest d'Alkemade qui l'agrandit au sud jusqu'à ses limites actuelles en acquérant des prairies, les berges de l'Argentine et les étangs de Nysdam.
En 1893, l'industriel Ernest Solvay, Fondateur de la société internationale « Solvay & Co », achète la propriété pour en faire sa résidence d'été. Il confie à Victor Horta le soin de revoir les aménagements intérieurs du château. Une terrasse est aménagée en façade, surmontée d'une marquise vitrée à colonnes de fonte. Ernest Solvay fait réaménager le parc et agrandit encore le domaine qui atteint en 1920, 490 hectares.
Ernest Solvay lègue ses biens de son vivant à ses enfants. Le domaine de La Hulpe est divisé entre ses deux fils, Edmond qui reçoit la partie nord et Armand, l'aîné, qui reçoit le château et la partie basse de la propriété, dont l'ensemble constitue le domaine Solvay actuel.
Armand Solvay, puis son fils, Ernest-John réalisent d'importants aménagements du domaine qui lui donneront sa configuration actuelle.
L'architecte Georges Collin modifie considérablement l'aspect du château. Les tourelles, le clocheton central et la marquise sont supprimés, les flèches des tours sont raccourcies, la brique rouge est recouverte d'un enduit clair.
Ernest-John fait construire un belvédère auquel mène un escalier de 140 marches. Un jardin à la française est créé sur un côté du château. Face à la façade principale, une percée rectiligne engazonnée de 800 mètres à travers la forêt se termine par un obélisque de 36 mètres de haut surmonté d'un soleil doré. Il fait planter des espèces exotiques encore présentes aujourd'hui.
Préoccupé par la perspective d'un morcellement futur du domaine, il obtient son classement en 1963 et décide quelques années plus tard d'en faire don à l'État belge, à la condition de le maintenir dans son intégrité et de promouvoir les manifestations et rencontres culturelles.
Après le décès d'Ernest-John en 1972, cette magnifique propriété de 227 Ha devint accessible au grand public.

Sigüenza es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Guadalajara, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha. Es también la cabeza del partido judicial homónimo y la mayor localidad de la comarca de la Serranía.
n el siglo XV, el cardenal Mendoza decide derribar un lienzo de la muralla para crear un nuevo espacio diáfano, frente a la Catedral, donde celebrar espectáculos y el mercado semanal. De este modo se diseña una de las más bellas plazas castellanas, la Plaza Mayor de Sigüenza. De estructura rectangular, a uno de sus lados se levantó una galería porticada para guarecerse los días de lluvia, que llega hasta la Puerta del Toril. Sobre la galería se edificaron casas para el Cabildo que se adornan con escudos.
Al otro lado tenemos una serie de casas para nobles: la casa del Mirador y la casa de la Contaduría erigida por el Cardenal Mendoza a fines del siglo XV. Por el Norte la plaza limita con la Catedral, donde se abrió la denominada puerta del mercado. Por el Sur se eleva el Palacio de los Deanes, con doble hilera de arcos y galería, convertido en sede actual del Ayuntamiento. Cuenta el anecdotario local que unos americanos quisieron comprar la Plaza Mayor para llevársela piedra a piedra a Estados Unidos.
