An artwork by Lawrence Weiner which reads “A CLOTH OF COTTON WRAPPED AROUND A HORSESHOE OF IRON TOSSED UPON THE CREST OF A WAVE”. Latitudes commissioned this new work on the occasion of his 2008 solo exhibition at Barcelona’s Fundació Suñol, from where it unfolded as a four-part project. 1: The distribution of a public sculpture in the form of 300,000 sugar sachets sweetening 70 cafés in the city. 2: As a statement painted on a wall. 3: As a musical composition. 4: As an action at the sea wall of Barcelona’s port. Through language and materials, the statement appears to comprise an account of Spain’s mercantile and maritime history, its equestrian and commercial power. To be thrown in the sea at the user’s discretion. Horseshoe not included.
This bag is one of four limited-edition silkscreened totes produced on the occasion of Latitudes’ 10th Anniversary.
Each bag have been hand silkscreened at Print Workers in Barcelona; this is an artisanal process and each printing results in slight variations.

I think she felt like singing because she thinks this might be the only sun today! She heard that more clouds are expected! However, the sun is going strong at the moment, so maybe, just maybe, the sun is out to stay!
Green blades of grass are starting to peek through the brown! Yay!

Durian + Superglue = the flavor of this candy bar. The inside was a sickly yellow. I only ate half of it and gave the other half to an adventurous friend. Ugh.

My Snow Queen Elsa 17'' doll (released November 2013, LE 2500) is now wearing the gown, petticoat, shoes, gloves and necklace of my Cinderella 18'' Limited Edition Doll (released October 2012, LE 5000). She loses some of her magic, and looks much more like a Princess in this outfit. Her smoky eyes and black necklace give her a much darker look than Cinderella's look in Elsa's gown. Her look reminds me of French 18th century aristocracy. I'm thinking that she is about to be guillotined by the French Revolution.
It was suggested to me that I swap the outfits of my Cinderella and Snow Queen Elsa 17'' Limited Edition Dolls by the Disney Store. Cinderella is listed at 18'', but that is only when you add the height of her hair.
They both have light blue gowns covered in rhinestones. But Cinderella's dress is a poofy ballgown, whereas Elsa's outfit is a slinky satin dress with a oversized cape attached to the back. They both have crystal ornaments in their hair, which I leave alone. I also leave Cinderella's headband alone. But I will place Cinderella's black beaded necklace on Elsa, and as well as her white jeweled gloves. I will also swap Cinderella's 'glass' slippers with Elsa's blue snowflake high heeled shoes.
La Mer wants to take your picture! Shhh...don't tell her that the film left in the camera is too old, and we cannot buy any more because Polaroid refuses to make it!!

La Mer is wearing Chic so Chic...on etsy...long cardigan made of soft pink pearly yarn...wonderful skirt made of vintage French lace...hair ornament, and a pair of original sabots (wooden shoes) with white socks. She is also carrying a handmade bag and a sweet flower, and we received the sweetest little birdie that is not in this picture. Thank you SO much, Pascale for a most beautiful set!! I just LOVE it, and so does La Mer!!
