I've received some props from Midori for our next Travel Cafe promotion in Festival Walk LOG-ON store. Thanks to their great support, I hope this promotion will bring some excitement to our customers in terms of new visuals and possibily ignite their passion for goods with certain spirits in design and emotions.

One of the props here is a limited edition Traveler's Notebook in white color. Iijima san from Midori told me that this edition was actually a surprise when they applied white paint on the leather (you can see some random wrinkles on the surface and rough edges). It became a prize for the Traveler's Post Card Competition, only 10 persons will get this limited edition notebook. If you are interested to get one and you are from Hong Kong, Taiwan or Japan, submit a postcard according to the judging criteria specified in the link before 31st July 2007.

From a letter I received from Iijima san, other than a standard Traveler's Notebook stamp, he also put on a stamp made by a user who loves Traveler's Notebook. In addition, he included several A4 papers with "Traveler's Notebook" watermark on them. I guess these are just prototypes or props out of his R&D department, but what a pleasure to receive well intended stationery goods!

I hope this limited edition won't be stolen and after the promotion I'll be able to own it :)

Deboxing my Limited Edition Prince Eric 18'' Doll. First the front cardboard cover or lid is taken off, by sliding it off the box. There are no seals to break. Underneath is a clear plastic cover through which the doll is clearly seen in an unobstructed view. Next the back lid is removed, then the clear plastic cover. Eric is still attached the cardboard backing and doll stand. Under the cardboard backing is the Certificate of Authenticity. My doll is #79 of 1500. As you can see, with the plastic cover removed, this hair sticks a bit above the top of the cardboard backing.

First look at my Limited Edition Prince Eric 18'' Doll. I got him along with the Limited Edition Ursula and Ariel 17'' Dolls from my local Disney Store on the release day, October 1, 2013. They are all sold out online, and probably in stores, too. My store had 5 Eric dolls and only 4 Ursula dolls. Photographed boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed.

Tonner Evil Queen doll deboxed. With crown. Lying down on the floor, with her cape closed. Collar pulled down, showing the top part of her pony tail, coming down from her hood.

I just received the Tonner Mirror Mirror on the Wall Evil Queen 16 inch doll (2010, LE 1000), last Friday, May 6, 2016. I won bidding on the doll on eBay on Wednesday and received her just two days later. She was displayed out of the box by the owner/seller, but is in excellent condition. She came in the original box, with all the accessories (crown and display stand).

She is very beautiful, with a gorgeous and film accurate outfit. She has a metal crown with shiny gold paint, but the surface is uneven. It is secured to her head by a clear rubber band chin strap. Her outfit is fully removable, and is multilayered. There is no glitter or jewels in her outfit, but the seller glued a red crystal to the clasp of the robe, which enhances the outfit. She has a full length black velvet robe, which is lined with red satin, and has a high white satin collar that is wired to make it stiffer. It is attached to her knit black hood by snap closures in the front. Her full length dress is dark purple satin, with light purple oversized sleeves that have yellow trim. Under her dress is a white satin underskirt. Under that she wearing shear knit pantyhose, and white panties. She has faux yellow leather high heeled shoes, with nonskid soles. She has a beautifully painted face, with blue eyes, red lips, and thin arched black eyebrows. She is medium length straight black hair, which is covered by her hood and robe.

In her heels, she is about 16.5 inches tall, and is about 17 inches tall on the stand. That same as the Disney Store Limited Edition Heirloom dolls, and she matches up very well with the DS Snow White 17 inch doll. I am very happy to have her, especially after the disappointment of no doll releases in conjunction with the Walt Disney Signature Collection release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs earlier this year.

Retail Price: $129.99USD

Release Date: December 5th 2020

COA: 3119/5500

Before you read on, I prefer the new 17″ Rapunzel to the original one. So if you strongly disagree with this, you might not want to continue reading.

I finally received my 10th Anniversary 17″ Rapunzel doll yesterday after many months of anxious waiting. She’s my first 17″ limited Rapunzel doll, as I hadn’t started collecting at the time the original one was released in 2011.

Rapunzel’s a fairly popular princess, and the original one from 2011 now costs an arm and a leg. Naturally everyone was super excited about the new Rapunzel doll because for many, myself included, it would be their first 17″ one.

However, just like with the 30th Anniversary Ariel doll, there was a lot of negativity after her promotion pictures were released. A lot of collectors were unhappy with how Disney chose to reinterpret Rapunzel. Most complaints were about how “simple” her dress was, and how it should be purple and not pink.

And just like with how I preferred the new 30th anniversary Ariel to the original one from 2013, I also prefer the new Rapunzel to the original. For obvious starters, the new Rapunzel’s face is much more prettier and movie accurate than the original! I love Disney’s new face mould for her. I also much prefer how her hair is styled – in a long beautiful floral braid.

Now for the complaints surrounding the colour of her dress. I actually welcome this change from purple to “pink”. It’s refreshing to see Rapunzel in a colour other than purple (I’m also probably biased because my favourite colour is pink). I say “pink” because her dress is actually technically “magenta”. Ahem.

Anyway, all in all, given the choice to choose just one Rapunzel for my collection, I would still choose the new one. I’m so relieved I ignored all that negativity and decided to purchase her in the end. This also makes all that stress from staying up late until 4am on release day, waiting forever in a buggy-as Disney virtual waiting room, waiting weeks for her to be shipped in constant fear of Disney cancelling out of the blue, paying a disgustingly exorbitant amount in international shipping and GST and many months of waiting over the congested Christmas and New Year’s holidays ALL WORTH IT! *victory punches the air*
