fifty two.
Haven't uploaded in a few days; Friday was super busy, and Saturday I was just uninspired and lazy. No real excuses, really. This photo did not come out how I imagined but it was too cold outside to stay there longer, so here it is.
I want it to be spring now. I'm so tired of shooting in the freezing rain/snow, and having all the gross snow on the sides of roads and in my yard and everywhere. Sunny days and grass and flowers would be oh so perfect.
Overall just too uninspired of a weekend. Tomorrow needs to be better. And it will be, because I get to photograph my boyfriend all dressed up. More info on that later!
This structure ( lightpost) is down the street from me...I walk past it everyday on my dog walks & from work...A few days ago, I heard alot of chirping & stopped to watch...Not a pretty nesting spot, but a fairly protected one & great use of their habitat. Happy Feathery Friday!!
Happy Bench Monday!
(And a lamp post or two!)
There really are a couple of benches here, but it's the lamps that grabbed my attention!
Kirsten sat at the lightpost on the northwest side of Adams and Wacker. She has been homeless for two weeks. She is from Rockford, but came to Chicago with her boyfriend. When that fell through, she ended up here. She's looking for a job and was in need of some nice clothes for an interview (which, thanks to folks like you, will be provided!) She has done telephone sales before and could easily be a part of an office setting. She was a solid, professional individual, and was very likeable. Kirsten was a figure skater for 11 years and received a bronze and gold medal in regional competitions. She said she could teach skating as well. She'd like to go back home, but her mom doesn't want anyone in her home (including her brother). I offered her handwarmers, but she told me to "give them to someone else who can use them". She WILL make it.
Shot at the LACMA lightpost installation in LA. Saw the spot in a movie recently (title eludes me at the moment) and had to go shoot it while I was there.
Late afternoon on The Wharf in San Francisco, California. I think it is a contest to see which one can drop the most direct hits on the tourists down below.

Light Post, Japan
Well !! many of you might be wondering what the hell this is ? Actually this is nothing but a light post in the middle of a bus stand near Mount Fuji, Japan. The bus stopped for 15 min for a break and I wondered in the market enjoying the area. It was a beautiful , cold morning and the structure caught my eyes, beautiful clouds in the background.....well !! the next part of the story is here.....
Photoshop:
A layer of contrast
A layer of masking to reduce the light glare
Noise reduction
unsharp mask
Adding Frame
Constructive criticisms for improvements always welcome…
Enjoy !!
