Our students performed the theater play "A Journey to Difference" at university today. The cafeteria was transformed into a theater house with all the necessary light fixtures.

Ceiling light installation in Union Station, Seattle, Washington; color version of previous black & white — even though this full color version is barely more than monochrome itself. Black & white works well for this, but I find I rather like the "color" version ever-so-slightly better.

Found this vintage schoolhouse light at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Blogged here.

Old Seoul Station, built in 1900, had been lying abandoned and neglected ever since the shiny, big and new Seoul Station was built next door in 2004.

I'm so glad they are using it for art exhibitions now. Last week I went to the Seoul International Photography Festival there. I did spend a lot of time looking at the photos, but mostly I was mesmerized by the fancy old chandeliers. I hope they preserve these ornate light fixtures.

One of Grand Central Terminal's ornate light fixtures (I was going to call it a chandelier, but I'm not sure that's the correct term?)

Red Robin restaurants have wacky light fixtures. I was bored and had no hamburger yet, so I took a picture.

This image was taken at night in New York City in 2007 while walking past the Plaza Hotel which was under renovation. The Plaza contains many ornate fixtures that I have yet to find in any other hotel in New York City.

This a photo of the lighting in the FULL GOODS BREEZEWAY in the PEARL retail, commercial, residential, and entertainment complex in the northern RIVER WALK district of downtown SAN ANTONIO, TX.

We recently spent a couple nights in a Grand Villa at Kidani Village. The room was amazing - complete with a perfect view overlooking the savanna.

The details in the villa (more like "small house") were impeccable, even down to the lighting fixtures. This is the dining room chandelier, as viewed looking straight up.

Light fixtures in the hall.

I have this growing obsession with ceiling fans; especially ceiling fans in abandoned houses. Plus, I really liked the colors; the browns, tans, etc. [spring '11]

We went to Office Depot to buy me a desk chair. (Actually we went to three Office Depots and one Office Max, but that's another story.) The lights at one of the Office Depots are angled every which-a-way, I guess to better light the merchandise.

Crappy pic, but you get the idea. At my friend Dwayne's house.

We took a friend out for lunch today and this was one of the interesting light fixtures in the restaurant - made with Smirnoff vodka bottles. Other chandeliers were made with beer bottles, tabasco bottles, etc.

I don't remember where I took this, but how badass is this light fixture? I would like to own one and then hang it over my dining room table.
