This curious light fixture was part of a retaining wall at one of the locations where we were filming the movie 'Hooked'. Whether it was an actual working fixture as part of the wall at one time or if it was used after it broke I don't know. Look close and you can see the bulb still inside.
Many rooms had their original light fixtures.
I went to an estate sale at this awesome house.. once a farmhouse.. now surrounded by apartments. Very beautiful place, inside and out.
Possibly designed by architect Benjamin D. Price, whose mail-order service for churches was used often in Mississippi, this church was built in 1885, and originally featured two entrances flanking a center window. This was altered in the early 1930s to its current center-entrance arrangement.

On our recent family vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge. While there I took some photos to try out some different techniques.
The aftermath of three weeks of weekends and evenings. The linoleum has been torn up and replaced with vinyl tile. The cabinets have been taken apart, sanded, painted, and put back together with new knobs and hinges. The walls have been painted a nice, warm green. The ceiling fan has been replaced with inexpensive track lighting (and hooked up to a switch). And the benches have been reupholstered with something a little less busy.
This was taken slightly before work was completed. There are canned goods under the cabinets on the left holding the new baseboard in place while the glue dries, and we're still waiting on a new surface decal from Blik for the far wall.
This is a photo of the new ZURB Headquarters a day before demolition. The entire renovation project will take 18 weeks.

Photos from Vintage Junky's booth at the Bella Rustica Urban Barn Marketplace held at Tap Root Farm in Franklin, Tennessee on September 16th and 17th 2011. This was the first year of the show and we had a blast! Thanks to everyone that shopped Vintage Junky
The Golden Bee is a pub at the Broadmoor Convention Center. It was an original English pub that was taken apart and refashinoned at the Broadmoor in 1961. At around the 830pm, the waitress brings out a Song Book and a pianist starts playing songs on the player piano.

Our living room light. It's Ikea & it's everywhere, but I love it. So much better than the boring, flush-to-the-ceiling, brass-trimmed circular light that the apartment came with!
This is like a combination of these photographs:
In addition to rewiring the fixtures, Norman recommended using lower watt CFL's instead of incandescent bulbs. We used 60 watt equivalent CFL's, which generate less heat.

FIKA series Swag Pendant Lights is a combination of simple form and textile cables. What you see in this project is the minimalist single socket pendant light designed by Judy Lighting. We paired it with our G95 vintage Edison light bulb to show off the lightbulb's original form in all its warm and inviting glory. View more about this project on www.judylighting.com/

Turned out to be a pain to install (not to put together, as it came assembled) but looks sweet once it's on.
Okay...this is not a serious photograph, but I was amused with the smiley face look of this small light fixture in a concrete wall along the sidewalk at Pismo Beach.
