I'm back from my vacation and can't wait to catch up with everyone. I had a great time and will be working on the photos I took over the next couple of weeks. But before I get to those, here's another series for you all...
In February 2010, my girlfriend and I took a road trip up to the Bay Area. She had a conference to attend in San Francisco and I had some time off work I had to use so I figured I'd hang out in the city and venture out to Muir Woods. We stayed in a hotel near Union Square (a great area to be a San Francisco tourist in) and shortly after arriving, I walked up Powell St, turned on California St and walked up to Nob Hill. I took this right outside the historic InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill looking South back toward Union Square.
This is the only photo I took in the city on this trip (it rained some of the time and I was pretty busy) but I tend to go up there a lot so I'm sure I'll be posting more shots of San Francisco at some point. The rest of the series will be from across the bay in Muir Woods and Muir Beach.

The Miller Theater was designed in the Art Moderne style by Roy Benjamin and opened in 1940. The theater closed in the 1980s and was restored and reopened as the home of the Augusta Symphony in 2018. Found in the Augusta Downtown Historic District which is on the National Register of Historic Places #04000515.

on friday, we walked over to the baylor campus and through one of the libraries there. It housed the belongs of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and was completely gorgeous. beautiful architecture, stained glass windows, inlaid floors and ceilings, fabulous chandeliers, great light. what a treat!

I had to do a lot of fiddling around to get this one to where I liked it. The actual sign was much darker. Snapseed Photo Share’s various Tools allowed me to finally get it right. This IHOP has been completely renovated. I looks absolutely up to date: inside and outside. I’ve dined here from time to time since 1977.
