Came back from work late, this evening. It was pouring. The lights on the road were just gorgeous. While I was driving, i´ve decided to pull out my camera and shoot the light effects. Of course i knew i would not get anything worth it, eventhough i took my chance. Yes, they were all bad, but i like this one... it is an abstract painting by me. No photoshop, no filters. Just a plain shot.

Zero Gravity Ride with effects: One of the rides at the Winter Wonderfest in Navy Pier, Chicago, IL where riders are titled at 45 degrees during the peak time for this ride as it spins.
I thought of taking this shot as there were other lights behind and in front of the ride that made these effects pop up

Today marks a very sad day for so many. In my heart I hope we can learn to reach out in a better way. I lost some close friends seven years ago, and their memory will last forever. They were kind and gentle people with energy that fueled the imaginations of many. I can not begin to imagine the horror they went through and the violence in which they died.
Heroes rose in our country that day. Firefighters and emergency crews of all kinds poured into buildings that had become infernos. They rescued thousands. They showed the world of their courage, and set an example of what compassion is all about. This spread an enormous amount of Patriotism whithin our country. We had been stunned and shocked beyond belief. The heroes that rose that day forever changed our country, and much of the world for the better.
To my friends that perished, I miss you and love you. To the many that came to help and rescue, I thank you. I hope someday I will see my friends again, and I hope by then our world is a more peaceful place.

I thought this was such a cool shot. It kind of reminded me of the song by U2 . . . "Ultra Violet (light my way)". I also liked the reflection in the top right, so I tried to use something to compliment. I applied the new image on several layers with some spherical distortion. I applied the layers with hard and soft light modes. I also used the elliptical marquee tole for selections, and varied the feathering a lot...anywhere from 4-120 pixlels. This can help with the blending sometimes.

After designing the lit Oslo tram, I thought I'd play around with Stud.io to see what effects could be attained using the various light settings and luminous parts palette, among other finishes. To give it a real test, I thought I'd push it as far as I felt I could by creating a fully enclosed scene, such as you might find in a London Underground deep tube station. I'd already got a virtual design for a deep tube train, so it just seemed like the natural thing to do.
And here is the result. This is a semi-fictional view of a Northern Line service entering the platform at a deep tube station. The scene looks a bit murky, but it is set in the 1960s/70s when the deep tube wasn't as brightly lit as it is now, so I didn't want to go overboard with the lighting. I've included an old-style "lightbox" destination indicator and some period-typical advertising.
Part of the problem with rendering in standard LEGO colours is that these parts tend to end up very reflective in the renders, which created a lot of unwanted light effects. To counter this I had to make fairly extensive use of the rubber colour palette and keep the standard finish for sections that would have been tiled rather than painted, as well as the sides of the train. I've rendered this at maximum resolution to allow folk to see as many of the details as possible and compare the different lighting effects. There's also one or two jokes hidden in there for folk to find. Enjoy!!

I thought this was an awesome photo! T.S. always has the best models, and they really do a great job posing.
On this one I added a mural to the wall on the left. I want something that would help show the great depth and perspective in the shot, so I used these trees. The base line expands with the perspective, as do the size of the trees. I used the distort function for the mural on a layer.
On the back and right side I used another mural. The one coming up the right wall is in very strong perspective, again with the distort fuction. The right wall also has foreshortening, meaning the image on the wall appears condensed. I blended them all on several layers, and then selected the model with the pen tool and pasted it to the top layer.
I touched up all the edges with the airbrush eraser, as well as using that to delete the portion of mural where the pipe comes across horizontally
