for Haphazart - light on architexture

I've displayed this before, not that long ago. It was taken in a pitch black tunnel made lighter by my camera without flash. The car is approaching rapidly, notice also the left headlight, not as you may consider a light trail of a car moving away, instead it's light poking on ahead much faster than the car, it looks solid.

I had not expected several pitch black Tunnels. Cycling 1000m up on the Blue Ridge Parkway with no lights, should have known better.

It was a dangerous hike back, I stopped at a sole post lamp that beamed a very dim blue in the middle of all the black.

Late, late getting my shot for today - so just a quick strike!!

Flickr Lounge - Weekly Theme (36) ~ Light ....

Thanks, in advance, to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

"Lead, Kindly Light" is a hymn with words written in 1833 by John Henry Newman and 4th verse by Edward H. Bickersteth, Jr.. The tune was written by John B. Dykes in 1865.

As a young priest, John Newman became sick while in Italy and was unable to travel for almost three weeks. In his own words:

"Before starting from my inn, I sat down on my bed and began to sob bitterly. My servant, who had acted as my nurse, asked what ailed me. I could only answer, "I have a work to do in England." I was aching to get home, yet for want of a vessel I was kept at Palermo for three weeks.

I began to visit the churches, and they calmed my impatience, though I did not attend any services. At last I got off in an orange boat, bound for Marseilles. We were becalmed for whole week in the Straits of Bonifacio, and it was there that I wrote the lines, Lead, Kindly Light, which have since become so well known."

Lead, Kindly Light was sung by a soloist on the RMS Titanic during a hymn-singing gathering led by Rev. Ernest C. Carter, shortly before the ocean liner struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912.

It is thought that this hymn echoes a truth our hearts confirm: though trials may extinguish other sources of light, Christ will illuminate our path, "keep our feet," and show us the way home.

Fiery light illuminated the early morning skies. The crimson glow lit up the horizon and lasted only a couple of minutes.

A year later, almost to the exact date I shot a very similar looking sunrise few feet from this spot. www.flickr.com/photos/lexpix_/30571837576/in/dateposted-p...

One of these times I was glad I had a camera on me.

Play: Phantom (best of 2007-2017)

Playwright: Theodor Hoidekr

Director: Theodor Hoidekr

Group: HILT black light theatre Prague

Language: nonverbal

Duration: 1hr

The Play

Phantom black light theatre is the compilation of 15 different short parts. It shows the best of this theatre group HILT in last ten years 2007-2017 (it is the 10th anniversary of HILT). "Black light theatre" is the very special theatre genre based on optical effects of darkness and UV lighting. This genre is the world known originality of The Czech republic since 1955. Costumes and stage props are "shining" in the dark making visual illusions - like for ex. flying dancers on black background. Each part of this show is different style - love, autumn, winter or Africa, India, Czech folklore and more. Each part is different style of music and dance choreography in combination with visual effects of UV lighting and projections. Masked person as "Phantom" is opening each part of the show.

Director's Note

To have 10th anniversary of my theatre group HILT black light theatre Prague is very special moment in my life. I still remember our beginnings 10 years ago and I am grateful to all my actors and dancers for staying in my group still. Especially to Stepanka Pencova, lady who helps me to lead our group all the years. My life is theatre and I can not just imagine to live without that. It gives me many beautiful feelings to use the theatre to "tell something" to the people in the audience. Sure, my work is still changing and with every experience I feel my shows are more advanced. Phantom is the biggest matter of my heart - it shows many different parts of my personality and sure - of each person in the audience.

Director

Theodor Hoidekr was born in 1980 in Czech industrial town "Ostrava" in the poor miner's family. His parents wanted him to study business academy. Next to the business school Theodor was secretly visiting also dance school. He was dancing in musicals West Side Story and Jesus Christ Superstar and later he was interested in new modern dance styles. The most important moment in his life was the year 2001 - decision to move to the capital City Prague. From the first days in Prague his dance life was successful. In many Prague theatre shows he was the main dancer, later he was dancing also in TV shows. His biggest love was black light theatre. Experiences in Prague but also India, Poland, Malta, Greece, Germany, Slovakia and Ecuador brought him to build his own theatre group in 2007 called HILT black light theatre.

The Playwright

Theodor Hoidekr is writing his plays the same as he is directing them, making music and choreographies with help of his team. He has written and directed black light theatre shows The Painted World, Juliet´s Dream, History, Cinderella and Phantom (best of 2007-2017). He has directed also many short shows for special events for example Motorola show in New Delhi in 2007 in which Abhishek Bachchan took part with the group HILT.

The Group

HILT black light theatre Prague was founded in 2007. The main idea was to put together experienced black theatre actors and dancers and to use these different experiences in a new theatre group. HILT is the abbreviation of "Hoidekr Interactive Light Theatre" - its founder and director is Theodor Hoidekr - and this group often likes to break barrier between the stage and be in contact with the audience - to be interactive. Their shows are modern, full of dance and visual effect. The mission is to entertain and bring to their audience people who usually do not visit theatres. That's why HILT does not work with classical themes. This group has visited many countries with their show - Malta, Slovakia, Germany, Greece, Poland, Ecuador and India. Their most beloved and successful tour was in 2009 - the Bharat Rang Mahotsav festival in India. HILT plays on its daily permanent stage in Prague.

While reading "Working the Light" book, there's one thing about whats right and bad light. There's no such thing as bad light, it in the photographers aesthetic sense and technique how he will work around the light thats available. Maybe not the best light suitable for your image in mind.

Our last day of landscaping trip, we were blessed with another best light in Silay Old Port. We were hesitant at first if we'll be going down as high tide welcomes us that day. Knee deep waters, several inches of mud, uncertainty of what's down there and kids excited to be photograph. With the image in mind, i was the last (except for hector) who step down the ladder and just capture this image after the sun besets the horizon.

The old port is a perfect theatre of light, always delivering a unique sense of drama and provides great colors on many subjects of the port. I will always be coming back to this place. ..

Placed the direction of the center of the light to create a dynamic confrontational effect of explosive light.

The direction of the light facing left and inside the photo creates a tension which i like in this photo.
