Hi there!

Our assigned weekly topic for Macro Mondays was "Two." It could be number 2, the written word number two, or two things the same or similar. I thought that two Lifesavers might just do the trick.

Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. Have a wonderful day and week ahead!

Wet and wild weather early this morning at Little Bay.

The overhang on the left, besides having striking striations, was also a great shelter from the wind and the rain. While others were fighting umbrellas and fidling with gear one handed, Gerard and I were comfortably ensconced in this natural shelter.

I find it hard to win

Back on the ground again

I feel like giving in

But you're my second wind

Don't you ever tire

Facing all my fires

I don't need no one but you right now

So, I say

[Refrain:]

Oh, my friend, you're holding out your hand

I take it like an oar from the depth

Hey, Lifesaver, I'm drowning in despair

But you're fighting for me right until the end.

You pull me back to land and save me once again

You help me wash away

The insane mistakes I made

And I see it in your face

My only source of grace

No, I don't take for granted

All the time you've wasted

Making sacrifices for a fool

So, I say

[Refrain]

You lift me higher,

You hold the fire,

You make me strong enough to stay

You lift me higher,

You hold the fire,

Made up stand tall

But without you I'd fall

[Refrain]

You lift me higher,

You hold the fire,

You make me strong enough to stay!

My second stop on Thursday was Portishead Marina, a location I've never been to before.

As the sky cleared, the conditions were getting worse for photos so I just had a wander around and took a few snaps. I saw the RNLI boat alongside some of the yachts so got a shot of that.

It's not the most interesting photo in the world but I kinda like it.

CSX 4568 " Operation Lifesaver " unit leads I157 West on the Mohawk sub passing CP-188 in Fonda, Ny.

In what would be my first train of 2023, Amtrak's "Operation Lifesaver" unit #203 leads a westbound California Zephyr #5 past the big grain elevators of Somonauk, IL on the second day of the new year. In a case of "almost but not quite," this unit had eluded me multiple times up to this point, and it continues to elude me after. This day also happened to be my last day of Christmas break (what Christmas break?), I made it a point to catch it. It had been held up in Bristol, IL waiting its eastbound counterparts to clear, so by the time it got to me, I had lost a good amount of afternoon light on an already overcast day.

Scratch shot, off the harbour wall...love the ladder and the footsteps in the sand. All part of a family day out to Lyme Regis, Dorset. If you like photography I can thoroughly recommend this town. Character streets, harbour, rocks, groynes, beach huts....all sorts.
