This image is based on the proverb: “He who digs a pit for others falls into it himself.”

It is an ancient saying, born from popular oral tradition and passed down through centuries, but it also appears in biblical wisdom literature, where the same idea is stated clearly: whoever prepares a pit or a trap for someone else will end up falling into it. This is why very similar versions of this proverb exist in many languages — it is a truth that crosses time and cultures.

Its meaning is simple and universal: those who set traps for others often become trapped in the consequences of their own actions. It is a human mechanism before it is a moral one: deception leaves traces, manipulation creates returns, and what is built to crush others can eventually become a danger for the one who built it.

In this image, the proverb becomes a scene: a woman has been thrown into a pit. The signs of what happened remain, along with the object abandoned mid-gesture: the shovel. The pit is not a final place — it is a trap built by someone. And the proverb reminds us that, sooner or later, that trap changes its target.

This image was created using Artificial Intelligence as an expressive medium, not as a replacement for art or photography. I use digital tools to build visual allegories and turn proverbs into images, but the control remains human: I choose, correct, intervene, and refine the work myself so that the scene stays credible and faithful to the meaning of the saying.

“All Aboard!”

~~~~~~~~~~
When I was in college, I commuted daily by way of train. I’d have to be there early to catch the morning train. I would be in class all day either in lectures or on computers. Sometimes I’d have to walk 7 city blocks to get between the two campus buildings. After 8 hours, I was exhausted. Taking the train home, I’d put my music on and relax. The slow rocking back and forth of the car would tempt me to fall asleep. One particularly tiring day, I did fall asleep. When I finally woke up, I had passed my stop. Slept right through it. I had to call my dad to pick me up at one station, to take me to another in order to pick up my car.
In many ways, life is the ultimate train. Throughout your lifetime, you make many stops that will form who we are over the years. Each new train station, or chapter of life, comes and goes while the train of life never stops moving. When we are comfortable where we are, we get off the train and hang out at that stop until we are ready for a new one. At that point, we jump back on the train and move on. When the station we need comes, we need to be sure not to sleep through it! Stay alert and know when to get off. No one can and/or will force us off the train and no one can and/or will make us get on. It is up to us. When we are ready to move on, we will. So, we need to ask ourselves, are we comfortable where we are in life? Or is it time to move on?
for what you have! This is the lesson I realized when I saw this picture.
See, I took this picture when I was preparing for a session at my house. Just trying to get my settings and doing some testing. I just recently redid my bedroom...got a new comforter and new curtains, because I wasn't happy with the look I had going on. But when I came across this picture the other night, I realized my bedroom DID look very beautiful decorated this way.
I need to stop and be more appreciative each day of what I have. I know there are so many people who are less fortunate than me. So next time you are feeling down, take a look at how beautiful everything around you looks!!
11 o'clock....what should I do for today's pic? Hell...I don't know. So, I took my watch...and snapped away. Couldn't decided which to use...so I picked 4 of them. My favorite is the lamp reflection in the top right.
The watch was given to me by Noah this Christmas when my mother-in-law took him and Nate out to shop for us. He picked it out himself. "They" tried to change his mind and get me a "nicer one". They were looking at the price...he was looking in his heart. You see the watch only cost 5 bucks...The mother-in-law thought it was "cheap" and didn't think he should get it for me...he should get me a more expensive one. What she doesn't realize is that he doesn't care about cost. It was the most "yellow" (his favorite color) ...and he knows I like "non-digital" watches. So in his mind - it was the best one.
While it is a "cheap" 5 dollar watch - and may not last forever...I try to wear it every day so he can see it. I was raised to appreciate the thought of the gift...not the cost.
Thanks Noah for the watch...and Thank you Mom for the best life lessons.
