Baby Bear Balancing Act

My third Grizzly tour with Tide Rip Grizzly to Knight Inlet was during June of 2021 with two of my best girl friends, Ivy and Caroline, and a group of fellow photographers. It was awesome to be with like minded people. We watched this baby bear play on the rocks for about 45 minutes. It was so much fun! (Shot with Nikon d850 700mm, cropped and edited on LR mobile).

Priorities are Simple. I had my Saturday planned from the beginning of the week. Grandkids soccer games on Saturday morning, then the afternoon spent photographing something delightfully simple for Project Flickr. But 9-year-old Jaiden, whom I never get much one-on-one time with anymore, said, "Granny Helen, can I come home with you and spend the night? And can we bake Snickerdoodles?" "Sure," I said, "Just ask your mom." So we baked cookies and played games and I took no photos at all until this morning. She's asleep on the sofa with my old T-shirt for a nightgown, and Life is Good.

so proud of my little brother for making one of his dreams come true. our parents raised us in a loving, disciplined home and today, he closed on his first house. i woke up realizing i wouldn't be there for the signing and it made my heart ache for a few minutes. okay, i bawled my eyes out too. he's my only brother and i thought i would always be there for him. then i thought, "he's got this. he doesn't need me to watch him sign papers and cry like a baby." lol. i did ask the fam to snag some photos for me though. and those of you who know me, you know in my mind i was staging a photo shoot as if it were a proclamation signing. lol good thing i wasn't there after all.
