there are a lot of wheels in motion, particularly inside my mind. i've been traveling a little lately, which i had not had the urge at all to do for the past year. i guess it's the summer, it's not a time i stick around. i've been doing my reading, and trying to be more in solitude too. which is hard, but good for me.

today i was in greensboro for a training and then later in chapel hill and finally back in durham tonight. last weekend i visited jess in nj, the weekend before that we were in charlotte. my car and mind have been getting mileage. and tonight was another good bye to friends that i won't see all summer long. it's always hard for me to let go of things, i've come to notice that about myself. but i think we all have to learn to take things easy, and let things go easy, and take new things in - easy.

i had some really great conversations about God today. these are my favorite days, when i can spend myself on what i love. i remember that there's not a whole lot to the life i live unless i'm giving it away whole-heartedly to God, through being with those around me. i feel like i am often soaking in His presence, when i am nearest to the heart of the person next to me. this is my joy.

so, right after this picture was taken, i dropped my camera. i know. i'm a terrible mother. those were actually the words i thought to myself, which i know is silly but that's how i felt. luckily i am getting a tax return, so i'll be able to afford, a better, newer lens. but for the next week or so i'm going to have to do some nifty iphone photography, because my canon will be lens-less. :/ lifehappens! but life is GOOD!
