I so want this "18th century version of the PDA" (via 43 Folders). Thanks for giving me something else to drool over, Merlin.

We revised the original board to add a retrospective lane(s), so we could sit down and collaborate on our take-aways from the visit once it was over.

Sometimes when I'm sitting on the couch reading a book, my legs get a

little bit chilly. I don't always want to break out the blanket,

because blankets can be unwieldy, and anyway I don't want to get the

blanket all dirty with my shoes. What to do? My solution is to have

my cat sit on my lap. She thinks she's getting a comfortable spot to

rest, and I get legwarmers! CATHACK!

This is the index card accordion filer I just bought to serve as my new hipster PDA and portable, multi-context list organizer.

My previous PDA is on the right. I'm a bit torn. I will really miss the breast pocket convenience of my old PDA. I may use both for the time being.

My daughter had specific questions she wanted addressed during our visit. So she asked for a lane to add her questions in. I revised the original board to add her lane and a retrospective lane(s) as well (on following pages) See that image in the link below (update 18b) so we could collaborate on our take-aways from the visit.

My Active Projects and Someday/Maybe binder. I'm looking to simpify.

It is not easy to wash your hands in a period characterized by the threat of bacteria and viruses. First of all, get clear spring water from high-altitude glaciers. Then dry well-washed rubber gloves outside with fresh spring air. Pour the glacier water into a sterile metal bowl and then dip your hands, which have been previously protected with the rubber gloves, into the water. In this way your hands will not be harmed if the water contains too many harmful acids. Please note, however, that your hands must be washed before putting on the gloves, otherwise they may not be clean. So it is all quite simple.

I had to take a snap of this... apparently she or he has a problem with leaving their lights on.

I took a simple ballpoint pen and a normal sharpie, then clipped them together pointing in opposite directions with an extra hipster PDA clip. I never have to search for either writing utensil again! In addition, chewing on the end of my pen now results in some serious negative auto-conditioning.

The concepts do not always work as the inventors imagined. The smoking stations are not designed for other waste. You can't call this a lifehack, but at least there was an attempt to dispose of the waste. Rorschach-Stadt station, Switzerland, Oct 18, 2021.

Vacation prep-in-progress. I love how this worked out so far. One more thing to put in the car and then we just have to stop at the store once we arrive at our destination. I'm excited to use it when we pack to come back home because I know we will have things spread out throughout the rental house and it will help us to not forget a thing on the return.

I had been struggling with battery life in my camera when using it as a cardreader, due to the slow USB 1.1 transfer speed from the camera to my computer. The camera seems to be pretty power consumptive, and I was having to recharge much more frequently than if I were just taking pictures. My solution was to buy a LaCie USB 2.0 cardreader, which worked well but had a few problems. Since it did not come with an integrated mounting solution, it was forced to rest on my desk surface, where it was open to being scratched, spilled upon, having pens, pencils and other writing implements jammed into it and a variety of other maladies. This incredibly convenient and groundbreaking lifehack was inspired by seeing the effective performance of stickytack in holding pictures onto my wall! It was only a short (though genius) leap to extrapolate that additional sticktack could hold a modestly weighted cardreader onto my monitor, elevating it beyond the chaos of the proles below!

Pub wisdom refers to a body of knowledge, insights, and anecdotes that are typically shared and debated in a casual, conversational setting like a pub. It's often characterized by its simplicity, practical nature, and sometimes humorous or slightly flawed logic. This type of wisdom isn't derived from formal education or scientific research but rather from personal experiences, common sense, and the collective memory of a community. It can cover a wide range of topics, from how to fix a leaky tap to offering a simple solution for a complex problem, and is a cornerstone of informal social bonding and storytelling.

The finished paper covered jotter with pencil groove and paper. The small Bulldog clips also help retain the pencil. The thickness of the jotter is to allow for a pencil slot and to stop the clips from making the base uneven.

Here's my irony desktop...while I was working on this, Lifehack was busy featuring my old desktop! lol Thx again for that honor guys, really made my day.

This desktop is inspired by Saad Baig's DJ series:

www.flickr.com/photos/saadbaig/3276802824/

I thought the DJ chick would go well with this obnoxious CD Art Display skin I have an odd attachment to...sorry, at work now and can't recal it's name. A few color tweaks to Arcs for Rainmeter, 10ftHUD and Enigma calendar kinda brought everything together.

Editing the Arcs config, I just now realized that all those bars are actually system stats! I had no idea...they're a little hard to get exact figures for on their own, so I included Enigma skins on top of the calendar for when I want a clearer reading. As usual, Desktop Coral reserves the right side of the screen for me when I maximze any window.

Thx to Saad for the inspiration!
