Saturday Self-Challenge: Signs of Spring/Autumn
At the beginning of the week, I wasn't sure if I would find any signs of life yet, but checking my garden the other day, I saw these bluebells break ground...Glory Hallelujah, spring is finally making its appearance!!
Have a good weekend, everyone!

Taken through the fence this injured bird was living behind. The circular shapes that, to me, appear to be in the background, are actually part of the foreground.

A product of my archives captured in Oceanside, California, I made a few variations in the original image. One of the things I enjoy doing is walking on the beach especially when the tide is a low as the one seen in the image. Thank you for your beach and sunset scenes that inspired this one.
No matter what this life brings
I hope that you are by my side
through the thick and thin of things
No matter what this life brings
happy, sad, or chaotic things
We will be each other's guide
No matter what this life brings
I hope that you are by my side
Glacier National Park is probably my favorite place in the World. My wife and I initially met and got together over 10 years ago while planning a group trip to Glacier. We've traveled back multiple times since, and each year we don't get there we wish we could.
This fall at the end of September, we took a long weekend and brought our 2 children (ages 2 and 1) to Glacier for the first time. It was nothing like our prior trips to Glacier. No camping. No hiking to speak of. No 15+ mile days. No leaving camp at 6 am and returning after dark. No late-night campfires. We spent a large chunk of each day at Lake McDonald in Apgar, throwing rocks in the lake, dropping rocks into the lake off the boat dock, eating ice cream, buying stuffed animals at the gift shop, or just wandering the shore. We had as much fun exploring the grounds of the cabin we rented in Coram as we did in the park. And though undoubtedly in a different way than we feel connected to it, we saw our kids begin to connect with Glacier.
On this particular morning, we arose as early as we could and drove the hour up to Logan Pass. It was basically empty. We took a half-mile or so walk up the boardwalk toward Hidden Lake. We had no intention of getting there, no destination. My son relished the challenge of clambering up each step - still needing a spotter to ensure he didn't topple backward once he'd ascended. My daughter scanned for mountain goats and bighorn sheep. A crack in the boardwalk or a fallen leaf often derailed our progress for a few minutes. It may be the best memory I'll ever have of Glacier.
I hope the path of our lives will take us back here many times. Whether it does or not, this will always be a moment along that path that I cherish greatly.
this looked better in my head, as always i suppose :P
L is better.
