60 years after having the signal box on my model railway I finally saw it in real life. Still very recognisable.
10.1.10: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Chicago Blackhawks (Preseason) - I've been in the 400 level boxes, but these 200 level suites look much nicer.
Mid August with Level 2 Covid restrictions in New Zealand, saw Pioneer Motorcycle Club being given approval to proceed with Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2020 South Island Trials Champs. This was great news after Rounds 1 and 2 were cancelled. A lot of rain in the days immediately before the event saw the organisers easing Saturdays sections resulting in low scores. Sunday made up for this with a longer loop and some tougher sections. Great to see junior sections included on both days. Thanks to the parents who helped setting these sections and keeping an eye on proceedings. Great to have riders travelling from all over the South Island and a sole representative from the North. Thanks for coming and supporting the event. Thanks also to the property owners and the observers without who the event could not run. Enjoy the photos. The final South Island rounds are being held Labour Weekend in Christchurch as part of the NZ Champs.

Gyps fulvus ♂
A species which was almost brought to the edge of extinction by the drug Diclofenac.
Diclofenac is an anti-inflammatory used in humans to treat pain, inflammatory disorders such as arthritis, and dysmenorrhea.
Unfortunately some farmers were using the drug to treat muscular conditions in their cattle and studies in Pakistan showed that diclofenac caused acute kidney failure in vultures when they ate the carcasses of animals that had recently been treated with it.
Fortunately the use is being reduced and the vulture population is now beginning to increase again.
Level Up! A Ren Faire Show (on Facebook). This is an interactive stage show that changes. No two shows are alike. They get audience members on stage and they choose where stories go at certain points. (sort of like Dungeons & Dragons, but on a stage-sized scale).

So I passed Inspection of the trenches! I am soooo Thankful. I didn't have to change anything. As soon as the inspector left, I started to back fill with sand. I still have communications wire to lay in so I am laying a foot of sand over the electrical wire to eliminate and interference. Again I have to use buckets as I have to get around and through all the trenches.
My house is 50 years old and the subfloor is perfect in both directions. The only imperfection I found in the entire kitchen was about a 4mm gap toward the top of the wall for the cabinets. The corners of the kitchen are also perfectly square. That'll make my job easier.
Today I finished the painting and Paul built 12 shelves. 9 of them are very long and turn a corner in 3 different places in the apartment. Here Paul is marking the placement of shelves. I now own quite a few tools which I did not own before. Including this level, a hand saw, and most exciting, a drill gun.
A photo-story about the shelves and painting follows below
