The High Level Bridge over the River Tyne at Newcastle. The road traffic is on the lower level; the trains up above. You can just see the track coming in on the right of the shot.
Designed by Robert Stephenson, it was opened by Queen Victoria in 1850. Grade 1 listed.
This sign shows the 1947 & 1887 flood heights - so the 2013 floods are still nowhere near it but amazing nonetheless. I've lived in this area for 13 years and always driven past the sign wondering how there could be so much water, I now have a little more of an idea!

After a tidy up session up the loft I uncovered a load of old drawings, sketches, finished and half finished work
This view was almost Albertan in its flatness, a rarity in a Nova Scotian drive.
I adore the minimalist swaths of colour.

So I passed Inspection of the trenches! I am soooo Thankful. I didn't have to change anything. As soon as the inspector left, I started to back fill with sand. I still have communications wire to lay in so I am laying a foot of sand over the electrical wire to eliminate and interference. Again I have to use buckets as I have to get around and through all the trenches.
