Added an anit-cant level and a rubber eyepiece to the ZEQ polar scope.
Tested it under the stars last night, love the rubber eyepiece, no more cold metal against your eyebrow...:)
FORT IRWIN, Calif. -- The 2916th Aviation Battalion utilized an off-cycle window in their calendar March 20 - 23 to conduct brigade-level training in the National Training Center's "Box". The exercise culminated at the Fort Irwin Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) March 23.
The goal of the training is to test readiness as well as hone emergency medical skills among the participating service members. One simulation presented the participants with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack on a troop transport that resulted in 16 casualties. The role players required triage at the point of injury in the training area, then airlifted back to the WACH on Fort Irwin for treatment. This was a large-scale training module that involved complex planning.
To make the exercise as authentic as possible training units had no warning of what they would encounter throughout the course of the event and participants were alerted only as the scenario unfolded, just as if the casualties and events were real. Large casualty events of this kind take a special type of planning coordination, material and geography to execute, and even more consideration to undertake, which makes the NTC an ideal venue for such training.
The 2916th assumed the role of air medevac, requiring multiple airlifts to bring all casualties back to the WACH, where staff members prioritized, stabilized and treated the mock casualties, then prepared to fly any they determined needing specialized care beyond WACH capabilities to other nearby available medical facilities for more extensive treatment.

Level C of the Frost is the booky section of the library, a place where you can still browse. I was looking for a book on chancery hand, which I never did find, so I have reprojected the stacks into Mercator for ease of navigation. The shelving down here is both Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress, but latitude and longitude might work better.
It's wierd for sure. Located at the exhaust end of the engine test cell, this strange looking device would have cooled water pumped through it, which would spray out of the the nozzles around the edges of the rings, cooling the exhaust fumes down to a more manageable level.
After a long dry spell that stretched since early summer, the streams are back. Sheep Shearer Brook has settled to a steady flow, gathering power from the surrounding forest and heading in a hurry to the sea. It's a good thing they're beautiful, because I miss the ease of walking up on dry ground, skipping over tiny trickles and wet rocks underfoot. Now it's harder making my way, and crossing between banks is a rarer proposition. The woods are really looking bare now, in the low quarters where leaves were already sporadic sights. The forest floor has a fresh bed of what's fallen; quiet eddies crowded with what currents sift their way. It's a rush I don't mind wanting – a high as true to life as the level-headed lows. Sharp breeze in the rushing hollow, soft warmth in what's left of the light.

We finally turned Ava’s car seat to face the front that day and tested Evan to see if he was tall enough to ditch the booster seat. Spoiler alert: he was not quite tall enough. He was very very close, but he couldn’t quite sit all the way back and still have his feet flat on the floor. We ended up trading the high-backed booster for the smaller one for now, so at least there was a little sense of progress made.

One of the tallest buidings in the City of London. You can take a direct lift up to the 42th floor. There is an amazing bar with glass walls and awesome views. The prices are also awesome.

The 17th Dhaka International Trade Fair, (DITF)-2012 organized by Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Bangladesh will be held at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka west side of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre during January 01-31, 2012.
This event would project quality exportable of Bangladesh to the visitors from home and abroad. The local producer in the remote areas of rural Bangladesh who does not have financial strength to participate in International trade fair will have the opportunity to display their products to the buyer from abroad at this fair. On the other hand, the overseas participants would have opportunity to display their products to the consumer of Bangladesh where domestic market of consumer goods is expanding. The foreign participants will also have the opportunity to display their state-of-the-art technology to the local producers and exporters. Besides, the participants will be able to identify business contacts with prospect of entering into subsequent business negotiations.

The preserved signal box on the Barnstaple Junction to Bideford and Torrington Railway which closed in 1982.
The railway opened from Barnstaple to Fremington in 1848, and then passenger trains ran from Barnstaple to Bideford from 2 November 1855 following the opening of the Bideford Extension Railway. The line was further extended to Torrington in 1872. Passenger services ceased on 2 October 1965 although ball clay traffic continued until 1982. The track was finally lifted in 1985.
Instow Station signal box, which is over 130 years old became the UK's first Grade II listed signal box.. In 2003 the box was nationally recognised for its restoration and educational value by receiving the Carillion Rail Award at the National Railway Heritage Awards. The signal box is now managed and run by volunteers of the Bideford Railway Heritage Centre and is open to the public on occasional Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Back in 1979 when the future of the box was threatened by British Railways a petition was launched. I recall signing this when travelling on the Wirral Railway Circle’s Atlantic Coast Express to Torrington and Meeth.
However, despite being a regular visitor to Devon I had not visited the box, last seeing it from the ACE almost 40 years earlier. Therefore, in April 2019 I resolved to go and visit and photograph the box and the remains of Instow Station of which one platform remains for the first time.
