Cheltenham Wetlands Park was once part of the U.S. Naval Radio Station, Cheltenham, Maryland. It was commissioned in 1939.

All metal antenna poles have been removed from the installation. Some abandoned creosoted wood poles remain in the wooded and swampy sections of the installation.

Established as a radio receiving station before World War II, the installation's mission evolved to administration during the Cold War era.”

MANUFACTURIING: Land Rovers were manufactured primarily at the Solihull plant, near Birmingham, but production of the Freelander was moved to the Halewood Body & Assembly plant near Liverpool, a former Ford car plant. The Freelander is also assembled in knock-down kit (CKD) form at Land Rover's facility in Pune, India.[29] As of 2015, the company continued to expand by building locally in India as well as increasing the number of models made at JLR’s Chikhali facility near Pune to include the Discovery Sport and Evoque.[30]

Model-by-model road accident statistics from the UK Department for Transport show that the Land Rover Defender is one of the safest cars on British roads as measured by chance of death in two-car injury accidents.[46] The figures, which were based on data collected by police forces following accidents between 2000 and 2004 in Great Britain, showed that Defender drivers had a 1% chance of being killed or seriously injured and a 33% chance of sustaining any kind of injury. Other four-wheel-drive vehicles scored equally highly, and collectively these vehicles were much safer for their passengers than those in other classes such as passenger cars and MPVs. These figures reflect the fact that drivers of large mass vehicles are likely to be safer, often at the expense of other drivers if they collide with smaller cars.

EY = Ernst & Young, EY is a behemoth of a company. I hope they fill these boxes as they are everywhere in the world and will probably expand over time. I have not followed the dumpster driver to see where they dispose of these textiles but I am sure they have a legitimate disposal/recycling area. I have personally witnessed many of the projects they fund here in Kentucky and elsewhere and they are excellent. I would not hesitate to support any of their endeavors, if even just to fill this box with shoes.

There are many individuals who walk in this area -

one must be careful when walking up to this container as drivers whizzing by are not always vigilant. I wish them luck in crossing this road.

This particular container is put together very well and operates flawlessly. Kudos to whomever made it.

Pancake and I spotted Ami while we were getting Pancake some treats. This was "Derby Day" and a rainy day at that. Ami was choosing some flowers for her Mom for Mother's Day. Interestingly enough this Walmart had no women's hats for sale - anywhere.

Walmart is a good place to piace to shop simply because it is spacious, roomy and one can choose their hours to visit - outside of the insanely mad rushes as they are open 24/7. For many of us it is much better as it is a relatively safe place nearby for us to walk indoors and at least get some exercise outside of the gym. With balance and mobility issues the treadmill can certainly be a challenge at times. Unfortunately many in this area believe it is unusual and even criminal to prefer to shop during off hours. They of course have never been disabled. Walmart generally is very service-dog friendly unlike many places here in Kentucky. Thank you Walmart for at least recognizing that.

Fried Feast

This is a wonderful local roadside vegetable stand - the best thing about it is there is no human interaction - you choose what you like, place the money in the envelopes provided then place the envelope inside the mail slot in the doorway. There is a scale there to weigh your tomatoes (it is set for tomatoes), paper bags, a pen (tied to a string - I generally try to leave an extra one if they need it), a fridge which contains fresh-picked corn, farm-fresh eggs, free bottled water and Icees for the kids in the freezer. They also take egg cartons in return.

The giant yellow squash to the right are free. They have tons of them. There are also homemade jams, jellies & pickles.

This wonderful little farm stand is located at 1209 Flat Rock Road, Louisville, KY, USA. They have a beautiful garden directly behind it.

The College Park Aviation Museum is located adjacent to the College Park Airport. The College Park Airport is the world’s oldest continuously operating airport established in 1909 when Wilbur Wright came and trained military officers to fly the government’s first aeroplane. The airport is known as the “Field of Firsts” which includes the first female passenger, first machine gun tested on an airplane, and the first controlled helicopter flight.
