Robin is a homeless woman in Louisville, Kentucky. (Age 68, according to her).. She was gainfully employed and had a home two years ago until her Mother whom she was caring for passed away. Her right leg became inflamed - she went to St. Mary's hospital. They amputated her leg. She did not have diabetes. She was denied disability by both her employer, Cafe Press, and the Social Security Administration disability office here in Louisville, Kentucky. She said she had an attorney who is "working on it". She states she had other items in a backpack that some kids had stolen. No cell phone.

This is next to a bus stop canopy where 3 individuals were sitting waiting for the bus.

She said prior to today Starbucks would not allow her inside - I did speak with Starbucks today and they stated she could go in while waiting for help from the Homeless Coalition of Louisville, who was notified. Starbucks (and their patrons) said they could not bring her any food.

Shiraz down the street offered a bottle of water but stated they would not let her in the store until they contacted the owner. I accepted the water for her and left.

McDonalds offered a fruit and yogurt parfait.

Smash Burgers manager gave $5 which we put toward some shampoo and deodorant and a Snickers bar from Walgreens (who gave us a discount) - these are what she'd said she needed at the moment.

Eastern Area Community Ministries gave the phone number for the Homeless Coalition although she states she's already been there. They offered to help her with food and additional resources but she had to get to their location. I could not fit Robin and her wheelchair in my car and it was a long way for Robin to wheel in the rain, uphill.

Matt Bevin, our Governor, is very proud of Kentucky. Not sure why. For shame, Mayor Fischer.

There were two other people in this area looking for help - one was a Veteran looking for work and had 2 kids at home, the other was a homeless man with a disabled son - they still had a car they were living in. I asked the Vet to keep an eye on Robin while I attempted to get her help - he said he would. I felt she was in very good hands - she was very appreciative of whatever help she received today. She was not there later in the afternoon.

Louisville's Homeless Outreach Team stated they would attempt to locate her - last contact was one year ago. They stated if they see her they would try to get her some McDonald's gift cards and a hygiene pack.

This corner has also been the favorite place for "The Lord's Kitchen Ministries" - www.thelordskitchen.com/ - that is where I'd spoken to a Veteran who was standing there - Richard Schuster - who'd stated he was also denied disability benefits. Richard said The Lord's Kitchen needed volunteers to help cook and serve at their facility.

As of today, December 18, 2018, I do not know Robin's status.

Gates leading to Ashford Stud, a division of Coolmore Stud based in Ireland, where the first Triple Crown Winner in 37 years, American Pharoah, is currently standing stud in Versailles, Kentucky. Tours to Ashford are $25 per person and are booked solid though visitors are not guaranteed a glimpse of this unusal "athletically gifted" horse owned by New Jersey's Ahmed Zayat. The stud fee for 2016 is $200,000.

Ashford Stud purchased the breeding rights to American Pharoah from Ahmed Zayat in late 2014 for a reported $13.8 million. American Pharoah went on to become the first racehorse in 37 years to win the American Triple Crown. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coolmore_Stud

Interestingly enough Ahmed Zayat filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Newark, New Jersey in 2010 - Zayat said the legal move was designed to protect his horse operation from efforts by Fifth Third Bank to have a receiver appointed to oversee Zayat Stables: www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/144141/zayat-sta...

There is a massive cell tower on or adjacent to Ashford Stud's sprawling farm. I imagine American Pharoah's owner, trainers and Coolmore are aware of the effects of RFI on impaired fertility and have taken that into consideration when placing this Triple Crown Winner here prior to buying/selling breeding rights. I do know Coolmore in Ireland is now aware of the conundrum. www.bioinitiative.org/conclusions/

American Pharoah is now breeding mares 3xday, 7 days per week. It was reported this unusually muscular horse did pull a back muscle earlier and was given two weeks off from this non-stop breeding cycle but has been put back on this breeding cycle once again. The outcome of the fate of any live foals will not be known until 2020.

I have contacted the FCC to ascertain their recommended physical distance for cell towers to various structures, natural areas & preserves, livestock, etc.... No one I spoke with there was familiar with what those recommendations were - I spoke with an Allison who connected me w. OET - Office of Engineering and Technology 202-418-2470. I left a voice mail asking for this information on 1 June 2016 along with my phone number. Left a 2nd VM message on 15 June 2016 - gave my email address as well as my phone number yet again.

And yet another recommendation to the FCC which was ignored: apps.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/view?id=7520958408

****

Nobody knows, they said:

Cell towers can cause arrythmias, neuropathy, nerve demyelination, behavioral changes, autism, interference w. medically implanted devices, etc...

(note the civilian version of the below document is "different") - the RFEF's (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) travel downward much like the letter "A" and outward dependent on the height of the tower, frequencies and the number of transmitters - yet this does not include satellite transmissions from DISH networks, unregistered, unregulated pole & roof transmitters & antennas, etc - and no one in Louisville (and many other municipalities) is inspecting, monitoring, regulating or knows what those standards are as many are hidden or camouflaged. Neither did the FCC when contacted. The recommended standards in the USA are much more lax than Europe's with no accountability or enforcement. Local Governments have zero input as to placement of these towers as of 2014 unless they conflict with certain criterion or the Water Tower in a previous photo (there is a tower attached to that which is directly atop a "protected natural area". Yet the average monetary rate to realtors, municipalities and land owners for hosting these towers averages thousands of dollars per month. www.steelintheair.com/new-cell-tower-leases.html

Military Workplaces--Force Health Protection Regarding Personnel Exposure to Electric, Magnetic, and Electromagnetic Fields, 0Hz to 300GHz

"4.2 DRLs for frequencies between 100 kHz and 3 GHz

The whole-body average (WBA) DRLs shown in Table 6 are based on the exposure response reported for

disruption of food-motivated behavior in laboratory animals. The behavioral effect threshold of 4 W/kg is

associated with a rise in core temperature during whole-body exposure of approximately 1 °C (de Lorge

[B8]). This temporary behavioral effect has been demonstrated to be the most sensitive, reproducible,

potentially adverse health effect across animal species and frequencies (IEEE Std C95.1™-2005, Annex

C2). Consistent with the approach used in the prior standards, a traditional safety factor of ten (10) has been

applied to the established adverse effect threshold value for such effects, yielding a DRL of 0.4 W/kg

averaged over the whole body for Zone 1. The Zone 0 ERLs incorporate an additional safety factor of 5.14

Whenever personnel may have access to an environment where the exposure may exceed the Zone 0 ERLs,

a personnel protection program shall be instituted to avoid exposure that exceeds the Zone 1 or Zone 2

ERLs. ".........

History

Isaac W. Bernheim established Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest in 1929. I. W. Bernheim (1848-1945) was a German immigrant who settled in Kentucky. From a humble beginning as a peddler, he became successful in the whiskey distilling business where he established the I.W. Harper brand. Grateful for his good fortune, he gave Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest to the people of Kentucky as a gift.

Saw this on the grounds of Papa John's Corporate Headquarters here in Louisville - he really has quite a story (from Wikipedia):

The Papa John's restaurant franchise was founded in 1983 when "Papa" John Schnatter knocked out a broom closet in the back of his father's tavern, Mick's Lounge, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.[4] He then sold his 1971 Z28 Camaro to purchase $1,600 worth of used pizza equipment and began selling pizzas to the tavern's customers out of the converted closet.[5] His pizzas proved so popular that one year later he was able to move into an adjoining space. In 2009, Schnatter got the Camaro back by contacting the family that he sold the car to in 1983.[6]

Was driven by a woman, btw. I asked her if I could load my car in there as I was quite fatigued from driving but she said she didn't have any more room in her trailer - it was quite full, she said.

Penn Station, Philadelphia

This is my brother, Bob.

Bob has a heart of gold. He could not hurt a fly. He was a great tour guide when we visited him in Philadelphia. He took us to see a surround sound movie of Alaska years ago- it was wonderful - I still have the brochure somewhere. He knew all the bus routes incredibly well. He relayed his many adventures and kind hearted deeds throughout the years. He said yesterday he'd taken an 8-yr old girl to a Philles ball game as her dream was to see the Philly Phanatic. She got her wish!

Today (April 25, 2024) is his birthday. He will be 74 today. I just spoke with him and he sounds happy. His voice mail is not set up and I'm unsure whether he would be able to access it anyway. That is a frequent issue for so many people.

Bob is currently living in the York House Apartments in Philadelphia. He does have TBI and has previously had a brain aneurysm. As of this date (june 18, 2021) we are hoping he is still alive as he is no longer returning calls. He has recently switched healthcare providers which has now dis-enrolled him from a program he enlisted in to get help. He may not have been aware of the ramifications of doing so. He has a wonderful lady named Leah D'Agostino from Allegheny who was helping him with this and she was associated with his previous healthcare provider. She was trying to get him a hospital bed once his building manager, Laura Reed, gave the ok. This building has 12 floors total, I am told. Leah had enlisted a wonderful man named Norman (with a difficult to spell last name) who was helping Bob and he is in touch with Leah. Leah has not heard from Bob either so she is going over to see if he is still alive. He lives on the 4th floor of this hi-rise building. He has had much trouble getting help for his basic needs as he is no longer able to articulate those needs coherently.as many trained professionals have looked away.. We hope Leah can turn that around. In speaking with Laura Reed just now she indicated she has seen him and of course for privacy reasons, cannot say anything more than that because the protection of their seniors living there is their concern. Laws are, after all, made to protect residents and their best interests. We have spaces on forms for ONE or TWO contacts, at most, and being a contact can sometimes be confusing.

Reminder to self: Cousin Harold is trying to get in touch with brother Bob however now we have lost contact with Cousin Harold who is somewhere in the Northwest.

Update: July 25 ,2021 - Bob returned a call today. He now has a hospital bed which Leah was able to secure for him. This weekend while this hospital bed was at it's highest position, the cord for the bed fell from the outlet. Bob has been unable to attach it - he says his nurse's aid has not returned in months and most of his clothing has been removed by this aide to launder and has not been returned. He sounds quite distraught. He has also lost his bank card. I do not know how or if he is able to take his medication. Please pray for Brother Bob. If anyone reading this lives near or is able to travel to 5325 Old York Road, Apt. 402, Phila., PA 19141 - please tell my Brother to stay strong - there is a higher power out there - I do not know where but there is one. Bob is in hospice care.

Update: Received a phone call from Mr. Gregory Benjamin from adult protective services inquiring about Bob. Mr. Benjamin said there was an ongoing investigation regarding Bob and asked me if I saw any "red flags" when speaking with Bob last. I have not felt any more red flags than usual other than Bob has now said he is in acute amount of pain and he is now totally confined to a wheelchair. When I had asked Bob how he was he said, "terrible", as opposed to his usual "I'll make it". So yes, there is some concern.

Today, Dec. 3. 2022, I received a phone call from Bob - it was a short call.

Update: April 25, 2023 - Bob is missing again. I've been told he is in a hospital although I am unable to locate him. His son, who is out west, says he has not heard from him but wants to be kept updated which I will. Unless I hear otherwise soon I will file a missing person's report. His current phone is being answered by someone else.

Update: May 16, 2023 - Spoke with a rep from the York House Senior Living Apts - the lady said she has seen him but that is all she can tell me. Don't know if it was in a vision, in the streets, in a hospital, a viewing or at home. HIPPA laws suck.

Update: April 23 2024 - Spoke w Brother Bob today - he sounds great. He said he has an appt. at Temple University Hospital to get his hearing aid checked again. He did receive his birthday cards I sent him 5 days apart, on time, as his birthday is April 25th.. They were sent from different mail boxes. Said he took an 8 year old girl to the Phillies game as she wanted to see the Philly Phanatic. All's well.

****Critical Update!!!!

Yesterday, July 24, 2024 at 3:16PM Brother Bob's heart gave out after repeatedly coding on and off and finally coding for 15 minutes in the ER and ICU.

The initial call from Dr. Eman Hamad came in at 12:47PM yesterday afternoon. She is indeed a wise, compassionate, prestigious brilliant Doctor. I cannot thank Dr. Hamad and all of the other people at Temple University Hospital for giving Bob the best care in the world. www.templehealth.org/doctors/eman-hamad

Brother Bob had never relayed to any of his family or to me that he was battling Stage 4 Lung Cancer. It's been a long road home for him in Philadelphia. He was happy there. I do not know the date when he was given this diagnosis.

As of right now we are waiting to hear from the morgue, where his body was taken to, as well as his general practitioner. As always - on standby.

Update: We did finally find his body. He was cremated and his ashes transported to his family. RIP Brother Bob. We will never forget you.

Locomotive Horn Signals

Ever wondered why the UP locomotives running on the track just down the block always sound their horns four times when approaching your street? Or heard a whole series of short whistle blasts and wondered what they meant? Horns are sounded for safety reasons – to warn of approaching trains. The following list "translates" some of those horn signals. The "o" indicates short sounds and "=" is for longer sounds. The General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR) contains information on horn use. These rules are frequently updated, and for the most up to date information, the sources of record are the GCOR, General Orders, Subdivision General Orders and Superintendent Bulletins.

Sound / Indication

Succession of short soundsThe whistle is sounded in an attempt to attract attention to the train. It is used when persons or livestock are on the track at other-than-road crossings at grade.

=When train is stopped. The air brakes are applied and pressure is equalized.

= =Train releases brakes and proceeds.

o oAcknowledgment of any signal not otherwise provided for.

o o oWhen train is stopped: means backing up, or acknowledgment of a hand signal to back up.

o o o oA request for a signal to be given or repeated if not understood.

= o o oInstruction for flagman to protect rear of train.

= = = =The flagman may return from west or south.

= = = = =The flagman may return from east or north.

= = o =Train is approaching public crossings at grade with engine in front.

o =Inspect the brake system for leaks or sticking brakes.

= o

Train is approaching men or equipment on or near the track, regardless of any whistle prohibitions.

After this initial warning, "o o" sounds intermittently until the head end of train has passed the men or equipment.

Horn Signals: A Proven Safety Precaution

On April 27, 2005, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), which enforces rail safety regulations, published the Final Rule on the Use of Locomotive Horns at Highway-Rail Grade Crossings. Effective June 24, 2005, the Final Rule requires that locomotive horns be sounded at all public grade crossings 15-20 seconds before entering a crossing, but not more than one-quarter mile in advance.

The pattern for blowing the horn remains two long, one short, and one long sounding to be repeated as necessary until the locomotive clears the crossing. Locomotive engineers will retain the authority to vary this pattern as necessary for crossings in close proximity. Locomotive engineers will be allowed to sound the horn in emergency situations consistent with the Final Rule.

A ban on locomotive horns in Florida was ordered removed by the FRA after it was shown that the accident rate doubled during the ban. The Final Rule preempts any state or local laws regarding the use of the train horn at public crossings. The Final Rule also provides public authorities the option to maintain and/or establish quiet zones provided certain supplemental or alternative safety measures are in place and the crossing accident rate meets FRA standards. Charlie Vettiner Golf Course is designated as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas including environmental Planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education and water quality management. louisvilleky.gov/content/charlie-vettiner-golf-course

The last time I'd visited this golf course there were dozens of waste containers filled to the brim with overflowing beer cans and bottles. Be wary of drunk drivers leaving this area - the life you save could be your own. The least they can do is recycle them.

Dead & dying trees could be seen throughout this course - it is also a favorite roosting area for vultures and condors.

The water surrounding this area is polluted and sewage-laden. Not a great testimony for Audubon, Louisville or Jefferson County, Kentucky. It would behoove the powers to be to ascertain the reasons for and address the numerous environmental challenges this, as well as other courses in the area face. It would also behoove the powers to be to protect local residents from the drunk golfers (and their families) entering and leaving this as well as other golf courses in the area as they, themselves do not have the capacity to do so.

This area is directly across the street from Kentucky One Medical Center Jewish Northeast / James Graham Brown Cancer Center (below). Immediately behind the tower is a playground and soccer field. This tower is less than 20 ft. from homes which cannot be seen due to strategically placed shrubbery. As you can see when enlarging this photo there are small children living here.

Per Section 332(c)(7) of the Communications Act - Allegations that a state or local government has acted inconsistently with Section 332(c)(7) are to be resolved exclusively by the courts (with the exception of cases involving regulation based on the health effects of RF emissions, which can be resolved by the courts or the FCC Commission).

A new tower construction requires:

Approval from the state or local governing authority for the proposed site;

Compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA);

Compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); and may require

Notification to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); and

Antenna Structure Registration (ASR) with the FCC.
