Sid Turner uses sculptural wall pieces and photography, to go on a personal exploration of the art of love, from Liverpool to Shangai and back again.
Lots of students who finished our beginners course went on to take improver windsurfing lessons with us at the Poole Windsurfing School during July. Here is some of the action!

I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.
EducationEquity Foundation (EEF) provides excellent free tutoring to motivated low-income students taking online lessons in Science and/or Math. These non-EEF online lessons are often free MOOCs (Massively Open Online Courses). EEF founder Dan Jetter, himself an expert private tutor of Science/Math (over 2400 hours' experience), augments the online lessons with in-person tutoring as needed. Though currently focused on the Trenton area, EEF will soon be available throughout the NYC Metro Area. In fact, EEF's roots are in NYC, where Dan was a High School Science teacher. After burning out in frustration with a dysfunctional public education system that left even motivated kids without the Math foundations necessary for Science learning, Dan resolved to return someday to help such kids help themselves. EEF, with its efficient/effective pedagogy of in-person tutoring that supplements online lessons, is the mechanism for helping these kids help themselves.
This grant will help EEF maintain its website, as well as provide textbooks to students who have limited Internet access.
The end result of a photoshop lesson for a friend (my version). The lesson was on selections, masks and adjustment layers. Combining a shot of a chair, and a shot of a tree to look as though they were in the same frame. Still waiting for their 'homework' ;)
This man was trying to work the crowd at Cathedral Square, but people were going out of their way to ignore him. When I gave him a tip, he insisted on giving Gael a dance lesson.

i've been enjoying playing with blurring shots intentionally.
i've also been enjoying a new photographic subject -- other photographers. I like to watch others at work for a shot, to see how they see things, what grabs their eye... and inevitably my eye is grabbed by the one behind the lens...
((it also helps when the one behind the lens is your fiance...))
this shot is perhaps my favorite from the trip - the intentional blur, the silhouette of the photographer, shot at night before a brightly lit edifice of brick and mortar towering over corrupt politicians and innocent children at play alike...
