I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.
The end result of a photoshop lesson for a friend (my version). The lesson was on selections, masks and adjustment layers. Combining a shot of a chair, and a shot of a tree to look as though they were in the same frame. Still waiting for their 'homework' ;)

i've been enjoying playing with blurring shots intentionally.
i've also been enjoying a new photographic subject -- other photographers. I like to watch others at work for a shot, to see how they see things, what grabs their eye... and inevitably my eye is grabbed by the one behind the lens...
((it also helps when the one behind the lens is your fiance...))
this shot is perhaps my favorite from the trip - the intentional blur, the silhouette of the photographer, shot at night before a brightly lit edifice of brick and mortar towering over corrupt politicians and innocent children at play alike...
