My grandmother's old hat-pin. (It is less than an inch, as you can see from the background 0,5 cm side-lenght squares.)

Sorry for the noise, I would have liked to have an additional light, or another lens. :-) Thank you for your kind comments!

Désolée pour le bruit, j'aurais aimé avoir une lumière additionnelle, ou un autre objectif. :-) Merci pour vos gentils commentaires!

Gerber daisy flower, less than an inch. This was my alternative shot for Macro Monday, not the one that made the cut :)

this is actually a close close-up of a cheese and garlic roll with blue food coloring. no, not mold!!

The edge length from the "Baby Cube" is 5 milimeters.

To realize the depth-of-field with F 2.8 I've used focus-stacking with 103 from 200 taken pictures.

The two cubes have been arranged on the german board game "Mensch ärgere dich nicht" .

This is the reason for the yellow shining blur in my photo

Thomas :-))

MACRO MONDAYS: FEBRUARY 26, 2018

THEME: LESS THAN AN INCH

I wanted to add something to the group that looks a little abstract.

CPU Chip Macro Mondays Less Than An Inch

I know, I know, it's a "pull-tab" not a pop top. This is from a can of Budweiser, the King of Beers (if you are to believe their advertising). This was left here by a visiting Euro beer-lover. When she's here she does enjoy US beer, like PBR and Bud. Of course, Corona and Heineken and other brands of beer are on the "acceptable to drink" list as well.

While processing this image, John Hiatt's "Riding with the King" was playing in my head. Here is a great rendition with Hiatt singing and Sonny Landreth playing lead on slide. The band is tight, the video and sound are excellent. Highly recommended. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_CUzuitxSI

Macro Mondays -- theme: Less Than An Inch

for #MacroMondays...#Less than an inch HMM

One little Die floating in the air

Macro Monday's less than an inch challenge. I found composition, focus, depth of field all challenging at this distance.

Macro Mondays, February 26th: Less Than An Inch

For this week's theme on Macro Mondays, which was... Less Than An Inch.

A so called berry (well, the raspberry), which is not a berry (but an aggregated stone fruit, according to my botany classes at university - the USEFUL stuff they teach you....), amongst seedless grapes...which, ironically, are berries (again, according to the botanists).

Nice colour contrast between the different, well, berries, and since the grape was less than a cm in diameter, the entire frame should definitely be... less than an inch.

And its food. Who's to argue with that....

Finally I made it.... :))

HMM!

1-euro-cent-coin. Original diameter is 16,25 mm (0,64 inch).

snow, lots of snow in my city :)

...with a juvenile Wall Lizard enjoying Saturday's sunshine along the seafront between Bournemouth and Poole.

This macro photo of a very small, juvenile wall lizard's head is my entry for the Macro Mondays challenge group theme for this week of 'Less than an inch'. HMM

This weeks 'Macro Mondays' effort on the theme of 'Less Than An Inch'. I struggled with this one as that leaves a lot of choice of what to shoot, but while making sure I didn't go over the inch, I thought of this. Anyhoo, HMM y'all!

This is my contribution to this weeks Macro Monday Theme of "Less Than An Inch". A small marble being photographed by a micro man...HMM

I pulled out a rarely-used camera and attached a macro filter to see what might be accomplished. A significant crop was needed to get to this level. Mark this up as a learning experience. It is easier to photograph a moving helicopter.

Macro Mondays

Theme: Less than an inch

February 26, 2018 (GMT)

Fresh snow caught on our chain link fence. I've taken far more ice images than snow over the last few years (thanks to our climate), so I was fascinated to see how "soft" and how much depth snow has in macro.

For Macro Mondays "Less then an Inch" (my first entry in quite a while!) - and yes, I measured it to determine my crop.

A little charm from my jewelry making supplies, it was too cute to resist!!

PA- The Little Things

This is one of the line guides from my Dad's old beach fishing rod, and is older than me (and I am old lol).

When we packed up my Mum's house a couple of years ago, I scored these along with Dad's old creel and rods, and I love them all. Makes me feel close to him still... yeah.

Anyway, this is taken for this weeks Macro Mondays - less than an inch.

See the first comment for the confirming measurement.

I used my Tamron 90mm Macro lens with ALL the Kenko extension tubes to get this close. ( that's another 68mm)

(Only slightly cropped at the top for composition, processed with Adobe Camera RAW, PSE15)

This image was made using my macro lens and 25mm extension tubes. Ten images stacked and processed in photoshop
