Here is me today...I started my fitness goals in mid November, I was around 250 pounds and today I am 218 pounds. My goal is 215.
Now THIS band, is the equivalent of BlessTheFall with a keytar. Win. :) Plus they didn't ruin my favorite Christmas song, Carol Of The Bells. In fact, I think I found another favorite version.

Metro Conference 1975-1995
The Metropolitan Collegiate Athletic Conference, known commonly as the Metro Conference (or even less formally as the Metro 6), was founded in 1975, by six institutions who were located in urban metropolitan areas, hence the name.
Those founding members were:
Cincinnati
Louisville
Memphis (then known as Memphis State)
Saint Louis Univ.
Georgia Tech
Tulane
The conference was built around basketball and never sponsored football, though most members throughout its history had D1 football programs that competed as independents. Backed by its media partner Raycom Sports, the Metro Conference quickly became one of the strongest leagues in college basketball, highlighted by Louisville winning two national championships in the 1980s.
Over the years various schools joined and left the conference.
Membership timeline:
Florida State joined in 1976
Georgia Tech left in 1979
Virginia Tech joined in 1979
Saint Louis left in 1982
Southern Miss joined in 1982
South Carolina joined in 1983
Cincinnati, Memphis, South Carolina, and FSU all left in 1991
Charlotte, South Florida, and VCU all joined in 1991
Fun fact: The Metro Conference was the first conference to study the viability of a "super conference".
In 1990, Raycom Sports was commissioned to conduct a study on a conference that would have included members of the Metro, Atlantic 10, and Big East conferences. Penn State was also included in an early plan prior to them accepting membership to the Big Ten in December of 1989.
The proposed conference would have consisted of the following schools:
Boston College
Cincinnati
Pitt
Rutgers
Syracuse
Temple
Virginia Tech
West Virginia
East Carolina
Louisville
Memphis
South Carolina
Southern Miss
Tulane
Florida State
Miami
Here's a great article from 2011 SportsBusinessJournal.com
www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Journal/Issues/2011/09/26/C...
that goes more in depth about the proposed conference. Really a must-read for any avid cfb fan/history nerd.
Fun fact: The Metro Conference was a parent conference to Conference USA.
With the proposed super conference never coming to fruition, the Metro Conference was on the verge of collapse as there was growing dissent among member schools over how to share basketball and football revenue. Ultimately some member schools had begun looking elsewhere to join conferences that sponsored football. So in 1995, the Metro and the Great Midwest conferences merged to form Conference USA.
