Taking photos through (dirty) glass is never easy and even less so when the animals are very close to the window.

If wild lions didn't need to hunt or mate I think that they would probably lie down and sleep for more than the 18 out of 24 hours that they do. For that reason it was good to see these captive born lions displaying uncharacteristically boisterous behaviour by chasing this metal ball around their enclosure.

117 pictures in 2017 (29) less than perfect

It’s good to go back over pictures you’ve taken. Some times, when looking at them again, you find a greater appeal in them. Here’s an example, taken earlier in May on a walk along a woodland section of path at Rydal Water in Lake District. The subtle smattering of blue bells has a less is more impact.

Listening to the songs from the Tender Love playlist, a follower, palioxis commented that he or she, I'm not sure, felt less alone... Truly healing power music provides. I hope my images provide similar effects as well... Have a delightful Wednesday, my dear friends!

The less photogenic passenger shuttle operation operated out of Thorndike. In reality it was better than the one out of unity, more parking, and is closer to the fair. GP9 1483 leads DIT GE70tonner 50 since the 1483 doesn't have Swedish style coupler adapters. Off to the right is two Swedish box cars.

I intending only drawing the view from the school but it was a superb building in itself.

Half Moon Bay, California - a winter stormy day at the beach

Sometimes the paths we choose to travel can be less acceptable to some people. This is usually because their view of beauty is different than ours... and that is perfectly alright, as we are all individuals. I have come to accept the fact that my opinions are not always going to agree with everyone else... again, that cool idea of being an individual. What troubles my heart is when people lash out at one another over a simple picture and their individual opinion behind that picture.

Thanks to my government and the US Marine Corps I have learned what it is like to take life... but that experience also taught me compassion and tolerance. I don't care if your gay or straight, pro life or pro choice... I can love the sinner and hate the sin, because I am one. (The sin I am referring to is judgement) My only redemption is that I have found the power of forgiveness... both in giving and receiving.

Please, let's step lightly on the tender lives of others, especially when we have no idea of the difficult paths that they have taken.
