Was thinking about getting a new piece of furniture
but couldn't bear to part with this sexy retro bargain
so filled it with toys, took a photo and I'm back in lust!
Another portrait based on the events of last Saturday :) I really like how this turned out, my plan was to shoot this with me in frame, but after checking a couple of the shots I didn't like it at all, so I stopped and wound myself back a bit.
I wanted the bruise to be a central point to the story in this image, it is quite shocking, I haven't had a bruise this bad...I cant remember ever! The evolution of it has been rather morbidly fascinating to watch. So, given that my stairs are in a state of chaos at the minute, I used it as a location to channel Guy Bourdin, one of my favourite photographers and took the opportunity to pull on a pair of my current favourite heels.
I edited with CSI in mind. I wanted the shot to feel confused, clinical. Anytime body parts are 'removed' or looked at in isolation there is always an element of forensic about the whole thing.
I like how it turned out :)

Me posing for a photo this morning before a work colleague and I went to Milton Keynes to meet some of his Footy club mates for lunch, a few drinks and then we went to a snooker club. They tried to teach me how to play snooker but I was rubbish! 💕x
I would have taken any of these for the calendar. Ultimately picked the one I did because the pose didn't look like something else I had already done yet, and the arched-back pose looked really good.

About the photo
Another photo from the September 3 photo session, taken and processed on my iPad 2.
Baby got BACK!
I'm proud to show off the fruits of my regular exercise regimen and my back-side is 100% real, natural ME - no artificial augmentation of any kind. I work hard, spending literally HOURS every day exercising to maintain a fit, trim, and shapely appearance. Some people got lucky and look amazing because they won the "gene lottery". I WISH that could have been me, too! Unfortunately, I have to work very hard at it, but I do what I got to do. It's not just vanity, btw. I'm no spring chicken and staying fit and healthy helps one age more gracefully, boosts the immune system, and minimizes the potential for health problems.
Photography tech
Like the others from this session, this photo was taken and processed entirely on my iPad 2 (aside from being re-sized and having text added post-iPad). Initially the photo was processed in a similar fashion to the "Fingers in Hair" and "Walking" photos. After some additional experimenting, I decided on this retro-photo look. Photo processing apps for iOS are a dime a dozen, and most of them are effortless to use. It's getting easier to quickly jazz-up photos with some additional style... except for the deciding which style/look to utilize. lol
Being a long-time digital media artist and enthusiast, I feel a little dirty taking the "quick and easy" route of these iOS photo processing apps over more powerful, feature-rich applications. Always on the short-end of spare time these days, I'm certainly glad to have the option of the quickie iOS photo apps!
Man have I been on a hiatus. Have been taking pics but for some reason or other never got around to uploading them on flickr. Christmas day is as good a time as any I suppose :)
I've been pet-sitting Ivy the Irish setter for about 2 months now. Her owner is continents away sorting out personal issues and some of these issues are making giving up this super sweet dog a sad possibility. It's perhaps some consolation that this wonderful girl is spending this Christmas being well loved in my home.

About the photo
Taken at the tail end of a photo session, this is simply me walking toward the camera (an iPad 2 in this case) to wrap up. Upon review of the images captured, I ended up liking this one more than many of the "posed" images.
Tech & photographer stuff
Some basic post-processing was handled in a photo app on my iPad (mostly just background alterations or art-ifications and some color tweaking). With the exception of the text added at the bottom, and resizing, this is another photo taken with and processed completely on my iPad 2.
iPad photos on flickr
With so few iPad 2 taken photos on flickr.com (according to reports), I like to mention when my own photography is of iPad 2 origin. It's part of that "being different" thing built in to me by design, I guess. The cameras on the iPad 2 aren't exactly high quality, but for images intended to be displayed in smaller format, they do ok. I'm hoping Apple decides to include some decent quality cameras in the iPad 3. The iPad isn't exactly an optimal form factor for taking pictures, but my wife and I both use the cameras on our iPads pretty frequently. She actually does all her photo taking with her iPad 2 these days, preferring the nice, big "view finder" over the small screen on her phone.
Fun fact for fans of Showtime's "Dexter"
After undressing for the evening, I walked into the living room where Mrs. H. was watching tv, holding my hand over my chest area, and told my wife, "Pardon my pits" (I used a word that rhymes with "pits", though - don't want to get flagged for language!). She got a good laugh out of it.
What on earth does that mean and why would it be funny? It's a reference from a scene in Dexter, season 2, that has become a reoccurring joke between Mrs. H. and I. Even a few years after seeing it, we still make jokes about that scene and find new ways to "pardon" our [things that rhymes with "pits"]. lol
Topman Super Spray On acid wash jeans. One of 5 pairs of Super Spray Ons I have. And yes I will take pics of them all.
Computer wallpaper, sized at 1680x1050.
For personal use only as a desktop background, may not be used online for websites, blogs, etc. © held by photographer or artist.
All of these wallpapers I've made some sort of modification to in addition to cropping them to a given size. Initially I have shared them on DeviantArt because of the wallpaper community there, but thought Flickr users may search for wallpaper on here as well.
Again, I make no claim to the artwork or photography in the pictures. (only some of the touchup or mods) and will notate my photography that is included.
Sheena celebrating Christmas in the jungle. Or the tree in my backyard that subs for the jungle. Lucked out with a day where we didn't get winter sun.
I had swapped out Sheena's original floppy-feet body for an S19B, but Sheena's original headsculpt is quite a bit darker than this figure's skin tone. So I swapped it out for one of the newer Kimi Toys heads that I think fits her perfectly.
