Pictures of Maddy during the few days I was hand stripping her rough wire coat fur. This is a task I do a couple times per year. She's just over a year, so this is my second attempt. I'm still tweaking it a couple weeks later. It's much less shaggy than when we started!

Can't figure out which one I like better - this one or this other shot. I ended up choosing this one because I thought it managed to capture the glimmer in The Girl's eyes.
I just wanted to capture The Girl's fascination with my lens caps. She always tries to shove 'em in her mouth!
Anyway, The Girl is so used to getting photographed. She even developed an instant look and smile for the camera.
The hazards of buying third party lens caps from eBay. The ad did not show holes drilled at the edge nor was this mentioned in their description. The three caps was delivered with thin cords which are supposed to be threaded through the holes and to the camera's lens strap eyelet. No big deal because the caps cost less than $10. It is not worth shipping the lot back to China.
The eBay seller is 999999.1bay.

friday 30th october; SOOC
i started writing my journal the other day, and i'm officially happy about it. it helps, alot.
today, i met carl at "the snake" and dropped off a DVD at his grandparents house then walked into down to get the rest of joe's birthday present. after about half an hour of waiting, we went to USA chicken and bought some chips and two cans. we then walked back to carls grandparents where we picked up the DVD and went back to his, where we watched "the butterfly effect" haha (yes, im obsessed with that film atm). my dad then picked me up at 8pm.

Jeffy spent about 10 minutes this morning exhaustively investigating my desk and the surrounding area for things to get into trouble with. At this point, he appeared to be considering whether the lens cap would make a good hockey puck. :-)
Just mucking with an older shot of mine. I may even have uploaded this once before, I can't remember.
testing out an old manual focus 50mm f1.4 nikkor lens on the d200. input the right settings in the d200 and the metering system works fine. but, of course, everything is manual.
need to get a new contact prescription, though, I think and manual focusing can be tricky without a split screen or at least focus screen designed for manual focus.
amazing how that lens still works as if it was new. I bought it for my old fe2 back in the 80's.

The lens cap from my new 28-135 IS USM as shot with my new 40D. Also used was my new Manfrotto tripod.
Taken on 5-1-08, I couldn't find the lens cap for about 10 minutes and then finally saw it hiding on the pillow on the couch.
This river has a lenscap of mine. I just wish the little cap all the best, we had some close calls, like that time I was rock crawling around on Mystic Lakes snowy shore and I had to backtrack all my steps to find it, or that time I plunged my not waterproof gloved hand into a frozen variation of this very river, but today it fell from too high, into too much current for me to have a chance.
I hope it makes it all the way to the ocean.
