The origins of soft drinks lie in the 15th century, during the Tudor dynasty (1485-1603). In Tudor England, people consumed a drink called ‘water imperial’. Water was added with lemon and cream of tartar. Experiments were also carried out in other countries: in France, a mixture was made of water, lemon and honey.
