"Frenesi" & "Berlin Express" undoubtedly the Stars of Flying Legends 2017. P-51D & P-51B Mustangs both arrived from the USA for the airshow with Frenesi arriving via a shipping crate to be rebuilt and flown over the weekend while Berlin Express flew the 5470 miles from Texas,across the Atlantic to eventually arrive at Duxford 7 days later.

Sad news - if you know your history - one of historys pioneers 1970s 6 yard king amoungst others he kinged when the word king had to be earnt.
Formation flight of part of the collection of Texas Flying Legends: North American P-51 and B-25, Eastern Aircraft Division (license built Grumman designs) FM-2 and TBM, Supermarine Spitfire IX (also license built by Vickers-Armstrong) and Curtiss P-40K. These aircraft flew out from Texas to fly at the Planes of Fame air show in Chino.
A small grouping of the Petroglyphs located at Legend Rock in Wyoming. Legend Rock is considered by many to be the premiere petroglyph site on public lands in Wyoming. It is located about 30 minutes north of Thermopolis.

Grows well in medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Rich, organic soils a plus. Like Clematis, prefers cool feet. Mulch can help keep the roots cool. Oriental Lilies bloom late July (MI) and are usually fragrant. Showey, large flowers average 7 inches in diameter with recurved petals. Planted in 2014.

The larger of the two lakes has a pretty clean shoreline. Not a lot of places for an alligator to hang out while not being seen. But there is the spillway and I spent a few minutes poking around it.
If I were an urban alligator, this is where I'd be. But I didn't find anything.
Being late to meet a friend for dinner and totally dejected, I headed back.
And then... I SAW IT!
I/100 of 100 Stranger Project. This is Legend...we met on a downtown street as I was taking practice shots of a planter of flowers. He and his friend walked into my shot, he apologized and I explained what I was doing with the 100 Strangers Project. He thought it was a cool thing so I asked him if he would like to be my subject and he happily jumped into this pose looking down at the flowers. We talked for a bit afterwards, he said he and his friend ( whose name I've forgotten) were from Brooklyn NY. They do martial arts and today were just out "walkin' and rappin'".
My goal (one of many) is to become better at talking to people to find out more about them, I think first I need to be more comfortable with my photography skills, This project will not only help with those skills but can only improve my skills as a human being as well
Italian postcard. Società Augusta Torino incise, Silvistrelli e Cappelletto Torino imprese. Siegfried aka Sigfrido (Mario Caserini, Ambrosio 1912). A maid overhears the conspiracy against Siegfried by Brunhild (Antonietta Calderari) and Hagen (Serafino Vité), but Hagen threatens to kill her if she betrays them. After Siegfried's death, Kriemhild will avenge herself by raising an enormous army against the conspirators, who have hidden in a castle of the Burgundians. Kriemhild's army invades the castle, sets it on fire, and defeats the Burgundians. According to the brochure of the film Kriemhild kills Brunhild by her own hand. The existing print lacks the last meters, so we don't see the ending of Brunhild and Hagen.
Siegfried / Sigfrido was a typical Ambrosio adaptation of the famous Nibelungenlied. The film initially follows the plot of the Nibelungenlied but greatly condenses and alters the second part of the saga (after Siegfried's death), even if Kriemhild's revenge is kept as a thriving force. Siegfried's slaying of the dragon, so prominent in Fritz Lang's film Die Nibelungen I. Siegfried (1924), has a small part in the original saga and is absent in the Ambrosio film (according to the brochure). Also, the use of the Tarnkappe, the cloak that makes invisible and thus deceives Brunhild, lacks. NB the volume Il cinema muto italiano 1912, part 2, by Aldo Bernardini and Vittorio Martinelli, indicates Dario Silvestri as playing Siegfried, while he looks very similar to the actor playing Parsifal in the eponymous film (Caserini, 1912) by Ambrosio, identified by B&M as Vitale De Stefano. The film Siegfried was released in Italy in October 1912. Both Siegfried and Parisfal were made in 1912 as prologue to the Richard Wagner centenary in 1913. Arrigo Frusta wrote the script, while Angelo Scalenghe did the cinematography. A print of the film exists within the Komiya Collection in Japan and was screened at the 2018 edition of the Cinema Ritrovato festival in Bolologna.

Fernanda Negri Pouget (1889-1955) was an Italian actress who starred in the Italian silent cinema of the 1910s. Little is known about the private life of Antonietta Calderari (dates of birth and death lack), but it is clear she was an actress at Turinese film companies all through her career in the 1910s and early 1920s.
The second generation Legend debuted for 1991, with sedans and short wheelbase coupes. The 3.2 liter V6 (200 HP) was standard, while 1993-1995 coupes had 230 HP. Sedans and coupes were available as L and LS series, a lower end base sedan was also available.
Its atypical form and its strange location (isolated in an inhospitable place), have always drawn attention, mainly of people interested in esoteric subjects.
One of the curiosities of this church is that everybody says that it has a octogonal plan ... but the fact is that it is dodecagonal: it has not eight but twelve sides. It is dodecagonal with three semicircular apses attached, one sacristy, also semicircular, and one tower of square cross section. Its most direct model is the church of Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem: as much in form as in function; this church was not constructed to be a parish church nor a monastic chapel: it is rather a sanctuary ... or more precisely, a "martyrium": a temple consecrated to the memory of the death and resurrection of Christ. In the popular view, its origin is bound to the knights templars. The church was consecrated in 1208. In 1531, the church became property of the Holy Order of the Hospital of Saint-John of Jerusalem and Malta.
Like almost everything in Segovia, the Vera Cruz (True Cross) also has its legends:
One says that just when the church had been inaugurated, a horseman of the order died and that he was left within the church during the night before being buried. In negligence, the other brothers of the order left the corpse alone ... rooks entered the church and showed no mercy with the body, which was destroyed. Upon returning, the prior of the order raised the roof and simultaneously frightened the birds, uttering a curse so that they did not return to the church ... the legend assures us that nobody has since seen rooks on the tile roof of the Vera Cruz (True Cross).

On Saturday, April 30th 2011, I had the priviledge of shooting the "Legends of Baseball Vintage Showdown" in Frisco, Texas at Dr. Pepper Park where the Frisco RoughRiders play. Major League Baseball legends came together to play baseball according to the rules as they were set in 1886. The rules, gloves, uniforms, bats, and even hand-stitched balls were all recreated as they had existed in the 1880's.
Legends such as Bert "Campy" Camaneris, Steve "Simpson" Sax, Dickie "Mechanic" Thon, Dante "Ace" Bichette, Rollie "Rolaids" Fingers, Cliff "The Horn" Floyd, Vernon "Rembrandt" Wells, Mark "Hard Hittin" Whiten, and Bill "Spaceman" Lee were on hand for some fun and excitement but, utimately, were there to raise money for the Get In The Box Foundation. The GITB Foundation is a coalition of professional athletes, college professors, and executives who are taking a stand to improve the physical and mental well-being of our youth.
