(From last year - Must see! So good! Essence of The Who!)
If any one member of The Who can be said to be the group's founding member it is singer Roger Daltrey, who was born in the West London suburb of Shepherds's Bush on March 1st, 1944. Roger first assembled the group that would become The Who in 1959 while at Acton County School, recruiting John Entwistle and subsequently agreeing to John's proposal that Pete Townshend should join. In those days, Roger, whose daytime job was in a sheet metal factory, even made the band's guitars, and it was his high energy and ambition that drove the group during their formative years. That same energy, coupled with his unwavering resolve, has sustained the group during periods of uncertainty ever since.

Legends of the Apollo Space Program were on hand Friday night for a two hour presentation at Theater In The Woods at the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh. Speaking on the right is Gene Kranz, flight director during the Gemini and Apollo programs. Gene is probably best known for being in charge of bringing the Apollo 13 crew home after their aborted moon mission. To the left of Kranz is Walt Cunningham, who was on Apollo Seven. Next is Jim Lovell who was on Apollo Eight with Frank Borman (to his left in yellow) as well as Apollo 13 with Fred Haise on the far left. Out of sight to the left are Buzz Aldrin (Gemini 12 and Apollo 11), Joe Engle (backup for Apollo 14 and 17), and Al Worden (Apollo 15). All of these guys were still very sharp and recalled things like it was yesterday.
href="http://www.offshoot.ie" rel="nofollow">OffShoot Photography Club arranged for us to cover the Wayside Celtic Legends versus Man Utd Legends match yesterday. The weather was great and there were goals galore. I lost count after about 7 but the result didn't matter as the Ger Hayden Cup is in honour of Ger who is:
"a Wayside Celtic F.C. legend with over 400 games. He suffers from multiple sclerosis and is confined to home. Contributions at: GoFundMe".
