This one’s dedicated to all the random dudes giving beer suggestions at the store! This beer was cheap and I remembered having a beer from legend a while back so I thought why not give them another try. I didn’t recall it at the time but I wasn’t impressed with the Octoberfest, actually, I called it “forgettable”. The dude said there was a bar in Williamsburg that has like 30 taps and a bunch of bottles the “brickskeller of Williamsburg”. I’m told. Apparently that’s where he had first had this beer, for the record he bought one too (that was a positive sign). Well I found the bar online and as a warning the website has some definite UI problems. www.greenleafe.com one disappointing thing about the green leafe (other than the spelling) is that they waste a few taps on junk.
For all of you non-DC people, the Brickskeller is a DC institution that has some 300 or so beers at anytime. www.lovethebeer.com/brickskeller.html if you want to visit the brick maybe ill meet you there. Be prepared to drop some coin and the foods nothing to write home about, but I can guarantee will find a beer there you haven’t yet had.
Anyway I’ll talk about this beer, umm the word forgettable comes to mind.
Nice Golden color although I think prefects pic makes it look better then it was, two finger plus head on the first pour the pic was taken after I drank a bit.
Crisp flavor, Light mouth feel… not really aromatic, not watery just kinda standard.
Its nice enough… its better than domestic, but I mean what isn’t? This is a good gateway beer, to show someone that there is something out there different than the mass market. I know that I have lead a few people out of the dark, and jumped into complex styles a little too quickly. Anyway, this isn’t a bad beer, but like the other legend its not exciting me either. At the end of the day I’m having a nice evening at home and that’s really what its all about.
once again thank you to the dudes giving advice in stores, granted i wasn't super thrilled about this one, but hey were all at different levels and all searching for that next great find. actually I'm going to keep my eye out for the legend barley wine.
so if your getting deep in your studies you could "Skip it, Skip it." -anyone remember that toy from the 80’s?- (The theme song is running through my head)
If your thinking about getting your feet wet and you live in the richmond area, give this one a try i couldn't find proof on the website, but they have a really small shipping area and the beer is labeled as "fresh beer" that means no preservatives and thats always a plus.

Legend Rock State Petroglyph Site
Legend rock is not a single rock but a 100 foot cliff of Cretaceous Sandstone that rises over the small but flowing Cottonwood Creek on the western side of Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin. The site contains some of the oldest rock art found in North America. Scattered along an area over 800 yards long there are over 300 petroglyphs that archaeologists now believe range in date from about 11,000 years ago to perhaps the mid-19th century. These carved images are carved the desert varnish, a mixture of iron and manganese oxides, on the stone's surface because both stone. Some of the petroglyphs nearly blend into the desert varnish because over the millennia the minerals have also precipitated on them. This patina enables scientists to estimate the date of the carvings. An etched handprint found at the site has been dated at 10,700 years ago, with an error range of plus or minus 1,400 years. Adjacent engravings are dated to about 6,800 years ago.
The art here is defined as being Dinwoody in style which is found only in Wyoming. At the time the Europeans arrived the native peoples in the area were the Shoshone. It is believed that they or their predecessors may have made some of the art at Legend Rock. Traditionally, the Shoshone believe the images were not made by humans but by the spirits they not only represent but embody. In this context, the chipped forms offer vital portals to other realities. Archaeologist Larry Todd said “Much like visiting a cathedral, a visit to Legend Rock is likely to inspire a certain sort of respect and sense of awe, even though you may not be of the particular religion that made it.” (Billings Gazette, Sunday 23, 2010) A National Historic Site since 1973, Legend Rock is only beginning to be deciphered by archaeologists and scientists working with the peoples who have long revered it. Together with many other rock-art locations across the western US, it demonstrates that America has a rich and ancient cultural history. Moreover, Legend Rock is linked by technique and imagery to sites around the world—Twyfelfontein in Namibia, Ningxia in China, and Alta in Norway, to name a few—all made by burgeoning human populations after the glaciers receded and the modern world began to take shape.

One young man had answered a riddle asked by the sphinx in an old Egyptian legend; therefore all Egyptians and travelers were saved from the sphinx’s magic.
This was also known by the pharaoh however, many Egyptians still very afraid of the sphinx who could no longer use it’s magic.
As the pharaoh’s will, his body shall be placed inside a pyramid after death so to live eternally ever after. To secure the pharaoh’s tomb, a giant sphinx was built to scare away thieves and evils.
This origami art work of mine is a desert with the sphinx and a pyramid, plus a little sarcophagus inside the pyramid
