RIFFIT was brought into this world with the vision to change the lives of dyslexic minds forever - one song at a time. And it's been doing precisely that. Helping young minds without any boundaries - physical or financial - unleash the true potential of their mind that's long been chained by the limitations of our mainstream educational systems. Last month, we put our RIFFIT app to the test. www.riffitnow.com/blog/a-speech-pathologists-review-of-ri...
Empowering Educators Through Recycling Training for Sustainable Education
From November 22 to 25, 2024, a transformative Basic Recycling Training took place in Salamieh, Hama, involving 39 participants from across Syria. These included representatives from Salamieh (9), Tartous (8), Lattakia (3), Hama/Musyaf (2), Damascus (6), and Aleppo (11). This initiative, part of the Syria-Education (SY-EDU) project funded and implemented by the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), aimed to equip Early Childhood Development (ECD) and education (EDU) teachers with skills to enhance environmental sustainability and revolutionize the educational process.
The training emphasized environmental sustainability by teaching participants how to reuse consumables and transform them into useful tools. It raised awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental preservation and encouraged teachers to think creatively with limited resources. Participants were trained to produce low-cost educational tools using recycled materials, enabling them to design resources tailored to individual differences among students. The initiative also sought to strengthen the connection between students and their learning experiences by incorporating educational tools made by either the teachers or the students themselves.
This activity is part of SY-EDU’s mission to transform lives through holistic education and Early Childhood Development. The program includes Education Hubs and Community-Based Childhood Centers for children aged 3 to 18, as well as Family Centers for children aged 6 months to 3 years, focusing on cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Through this recycling initiative, the project not only promotes sustainable practices but also fosters innovation and engagement, ensuring a lasting impact on educators, students, and communities alike.
