Hello all,

Sorry for the long silence, have been bussy with school/ exams and other things in life.

The layout hasn't chanced very much since the last post, I added some minor things but not very much.

Today I built up the layout in the living room to check if the tracks were smooth and if there were any other problems and afther some tests I started packing for the Noppenbahner event this weekend.

There are some small things that I need to improve so thats a nice task for tomorrow.

Enjoy the pictures!

Here is the beginning of my over the top layout 😅

Keep in mind this is half of the track plan.

Still got buildings and greenery to add to this half.

But so far, all this is about $15692.619 AUD (minus custom track)

Hey guys, bit of a life update, been struggling and juggling with a lot of things since around Dec last year. Put all of my energy into finishing my part of this Castle layout that my Cousin (on the left) wanted to do with me (on the right). In the end we finished this layout with one other friend (not in picture) who added a Bull Knight encampment to the jousting tournament.

Things are lowkey slowly getting better and I have been building stuff that I should photograph and post if nothing else for archival purposes. Definitely want to photograph the layout in my new Lego room now that I'm finally no longer building in my tiny 1 person bedroom.

I have made a ton of figbarfs the last few years that I planned to use for MOCs, I'm on the fence whether I should share the figbarfs or wait until I've made diorama's for them...

It's a bit messy, but it's hard to get everything in frame if the layout covers most of the floorspace in your apartment.

The switching layout is now pretty much finished. All areas are polished off and it’s a blast to operate. I’ve been quite happy with all the subtle details I’ve been able to model with this layout. It’s very fun to operate and I think really compliments whatever is running at the time!

The Neues Museum ("New Museum") is a museum in Berlin, Germany, located to the north of the Altes Museum (Old Museum) on Museum Island.

It was built between 1843 and 1855 according to plans by Friedrich August Stüler, a student of Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The museum was closed at the beginning of World War II in 1939, and was heavily damaged during the bombing of Berlin.

The rebuilding was overseen by the English architect David Chipperfield. The museum officially reopened in October 2009 and received a 2010 RIBA European Award and the 2011 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture.

Exhibits include the Egyptian and Prehistory and Early History collections, as it did before the war. The artifacts it houses include the iconic bust of the Egyptian queen Nefertiti.

Both as a part of the Museum Island complex and as an individual building, the museum testifies to the neoclassical architecture of museums in the 19th century. With its new industrialized building procedures and its use of iron construction, the museum plays an important role in the history of technology. Since the classical and ornate interiors of the Glyptothek and of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich were destroyed in World War II, the partly destroyed interior of the Neues Museum ranks among the last remaining examples of interior museum layout of this period in Germany.

A small event hosted at the NTM (Nederlands Transport Museum)

Our layout consisted of 3 modules, Tamàs, Ties and my yard. We also had some static display tables. All in all a fun layout at a fun event.

Next time I'll try to charge my trains before the event o,0

A different start to the layout

Now I play the waiting game...

A quick picture of my layout so far. I've been building a micropolis module every week so far this year. These new modules are being added to what I already have. This is probably about a quarter of the finished layout

A rough sketch of a 5’x6’ layout that will feature a small town on the side of a mountain. The outer loop will go up to the top of the mountain and to a small station, then back down to the small yard next to the town. The town will have a small trolley loop with it’s own station near the base of the mountain, and then both lines will meet at a larger station in the bottom right corner.

Just an fyi: I have no timetable for this project..!

The amount of track required:

- 1 loop of r36

- 4 r36 half curves

- 2 loops of r48

- 32 straights

- 8 half straights

- 12 quarter straights

- 4 rail adapters (for buffered sidings)

- 3 L+R pairs of r36 switches

- 2 r36 double slip switches

I’ll be basing my rolling stock on the Rhb, and already I have a mockup of a De 2/2.

There are always little control boxes next to the tracks

This Old man from Rajasthian, Mid-West India was clicked curious at the Haryana Heritage Festival at Yadvindra Gardens Pinjore, Haryana North India.

He was staring at us (the CFC group members) clicking photos when I noticed him.

I requested for a picture to which his eyes nodded; CLICK.

Before the shot, I had decided to shoot only half the face or the eyes but then everyone shoots like that, I personally wanted to present a diffrent frame so clicked more than what was needed and here it is - just as it was shot + crisp and saturated.

Please excuse the size, I lost the original photo :(

Now that the kids can control themselves a little better, I decided to really ramp up the Christmas layout and give the trains actual places to go in the house. They seem to be enjoying it, especially once I got out the TGV to run alongside the Emerald Night.

I'm still kicking myself for not getting a second TGV so it can look like an actual train, and for not getting extra passenger cars for the Emerald Night. Oh well. Maybe one day they'll bring out some more Creator Expert trains for us to buy.

At last I've a small space to set up as my railway layout. I'm as yet undecided as to be either fully 9V which ive initially gone with or go with the RC method as RC may form part of my loco builds in the future.

Now to start building trackside items and buildings, fun times :-D

The bluebrick plan we made for this layout. In the end we ended up flipping raised his module. This allowed better flow in the curves.

A little bit more overview. On the left is UrbanErwin's goods shed, on the right is on of Martijn vd Linde's houses. So yes, only the middle part is actually mine ;)

Finally got round to finishing this. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but it's good for now

Pois é, já que todo mundo fez uma, eu como bom sem criatividade não podia ficar de fora ...

The building is based on the train station building in Sanok, (Subcarpathia, Poland). It's based, but it's not an exact model of this one.

Sanok is a city of my childhood so I'm coming back here when I can. The layout is some kind of such specific journey.

Layouts ready for proofing. Keep your eyes peeled for the book by Stephen McLaren and Bryan Formhals this coming Autumn. It's a sneak peek into the working methods and processes of more than 40 photographers as they work things out for exhibtions, books and other projects. Packed with previously unpublished images from the likes of Amy Elkins, Alec Soth, Trent Parke, Susan Meiselas and Paul Trevor just to name a few...
