BR blue 85023 passes Rugby station with a northbound container train on 24 July 1986. The station track layout was remodelled in the early 2000s and the overall roof was sadly demolished.
New spring leaves cover most of the bushes and trees along Layout Creek near the site of the Ewing-Snell Ranch in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in Montana.
It's about time I shared what I've been up to recently. This is my layout project which has been slowly coming along since the beginning of 2020..until recently. With the last lego show before I leave for college almost a month away, I've been cranking away at getting this great project done.
It should be mentioned that a decent number of my builds are hidden off camera, or at least have yet to be photographed and put online. Some make it to different platforms before others, but this is the first bigger reveal of this project and I'm excited to show you what it looks like when it's all done. I've been making so many buildings and models that I can't keep up with sharing them, so what you see in these photos will be shown in greater detail later on.
One of the big things the layout lacks however is a name for the village that it will be based around. The signal box sign says "Wickford", however I don't think this will be the final name. Any suggestions?

We started with the idea of making a lap blanket (aiming for a size of roughly 27x36 when complete). Daniel did a drawing. We both worked on the colors and the layout. We wet it out and will begin felting tomorrow.
I really hope you like our new layout, this time I decided to go back to our main colors: Pink & Black.
This HUD will be included with future releases from now on.

❥ Position has been changed from left to right side, this way is not going to block popular head/body huds.

1. Textures: (Might be adding extra tab for large HUDs)

❥ Specular Intensity: Light - Medium - Dark.
This option is very useful to work with projectors and bright windlights.
- This feature is not going to be available with all items, this is because some textures require custom materials which are going to be applied automatically with any color/pattern you click on.
- Due to this new feature, I've removed "Glossiness 0 to 100".
❥ Larger Tint frame + RGB Menu.
❥ Storage slots have been reduced from 10 to 3.

Reeds bijna een jaar geleden begon ik aan mijn tripje naar Japan, die ruim drie weken zou duren. In de eerste week hiervan stonden enkele dagen in Osaka en Kyoto op het programma, en zodoende arriveerde ik op 18 mei per trein in wellicht Japans historisch gezien meest significante stad. Kyoto (京都 in het Japans) betekent letterlijk "hoofdstad", iets wat het maar liefst meer dan 1100 jaar is geweest, totdat de keizer en daarmee deze functie verplaatste naar Tokyo.
Als kort intermezzo voor uitleg over het spoorwegmuseum in Kyoto en het locomotieftype class 62, de volgende anekdote:
Het station van Kyoto staat bekend om zijn imposante architectuur maar ook niet minder om de vele mogelijkheden het station te verlaten. Dit maakt het voor mensen die onbekend zijn met de layout van het station lastig om de juiste uitgang te vinden, en zo eindig je vooral aan de zuidkant al snel bij een uitgang teveel naar het oosten of het westen van waar je eigenlijk wil zijn. Of in mijn geval: de toegangstunnel naar de shinkansen-sporen. Zoekend naar bordjes met "Exit" erop eindigde ik al snel vlak na de trap de tunnel in bij een aanzienlijke menigte die zich langs een met lintjes afgezet looppad had verzameld. Helaas, het zou dus nog even duren voordat ik daar verder kon! Maar uiteraard bleef ik even wachten wat er nou eigenlijk aan zat te komen. Aan een lange vrolijk geklede tevens westerse man vroeg ik in het Engels of hij wist wat er aan de hand was. "I think some royal person is supposed to arrive any minute here." Oke, interessant. Na een kort gesprek met deze aardige man viel aan het accent al snel op dat hij wel eens Nederlands kon zijn, en hij was mij sneller af om me dat te vragen dan andersom! Hoe groot is die kans nou...
Na niet al te lang wachten viel het op dat de menigte verderop in de tunnel ineens enthousiast met vlaggetjes begonnen te zwaaien. Zou er dan zo'n bekend persoon langs komen? Het duurde vervolgens niet veel langer voordat ik met stomheid geslagen werd: langzaam lopend en vriendelijk zwaaiend kwam zowaar de voormalige keizer van Japan om de hoek...!
Dit leuke voorval zal me altijd bij blijven staan; als ik boven het station door was gelopen en niet de shinkansen-tunnel in was gelopen had ik dit hele voorval gemist en misschien wel nooit geweten dat de voormalig keizer van Japan die dag Kyoto met een bezoek had vereerd...
Afijn, terug naar de foto.
De 19e van mei was een bijzonder druilerige dag in Kyoto. Gelukkig bulkt de stad van de musea en zodoende besloot ik het in 2016 geopende spoorwegmuseum te bezoeken. Deze bestemming stond onder voorwaarde als het goed uit zou komen dit een bezoekje waard was toch al op mijn lijstje.
Het museum is een bezit van een imposante hoeveelheid locomotieven, met name stoomlocs. Een viertal van deze locs is daadwerkelijk inzetbaar, en de Class 62 nummer 62-2 werd op die dag ingezet met het pendeltreintje dat dagelijks heen en weer rijdt over een kort stukje spoor achter het museum.
De JNR Class 62 is een bouwserie die is voortgevloeid uit het hergebruiken van de ketels van de Class D52 locs en werden in 1948-1949 (om)gebouwd door Hitachi. Al met al is het een onderhand iconische trein geworden in Japan, mede dankzij de destijds relatief populaire manga-reeks Galaxy Express 999. Het museum in Kyoto bezit maar liefst drie van de vijf bewaarde exemplaren van deze serie.
Op de foto zien we de fraaie 62-2 met haar setje rijtuigen duwend vertrekken voor de zoveelste pendelrit. De regen plensde neer bij het maken van de foto maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken toch nog een loc onder stoom te hebben gezien in Japan!

When I took this photo, the dressing room was very crowded. Hairdressers,makeup artists,they were everywhere, and then I saw her. She was waiting for her hairdresser. But autofocus of my telephoto lens was a bit problem, and so I changed the autofocus manual, and then I switched on again, now it was okay, so I took this photo. I put the focus on layout. It was a typical long day for me, but I enjoyed it.

'Leicester Town Council accepted on 29 October 1878, "a handsome ornamental fountain to be placed in the centre of the land fronting the Town Hall Buildings" which was a gift to the Borough from Sir Israel Hart, a former Mayor of Leicester. It is constructed of bronze-painted cast iron, Shap granite and Ross of Mull granite. Francis Hames, the architect of the town hall, also designed the layout of Town Hall Square and the fountain, which was unveiled by Sir Israel Hart on 24 September 1879.Is it saud to be based on a similar fountain Hames saw in at Porto in Portugal.'
It's a bit messy, but it's hard to get everything in frame if the layout covers most of the floorspace in your apartment.
