It's about time I shared what I've been up to recently. This is my layout project which has been slowly coming along since the beginning of 2020..until recently. With the last lego show before I leave for college almost a month away, I've been cranking away at getting this great project done.
It should be mentioned that a decent number of my builds are hidden off camera, or at least have yet to be photographed and put online. Some make it to different platforms before others, but this is the first bigger reveal of this project and I'm excited to show you what it looks like when it's all done. I've been making so many buildings and models that I can't keep up with sharing them, so what you see in these photos will be shown in greater detail later on.
One of the big things the layout lacks however is a name for the village that it will be based around. The signal box sign says "Wickford", however I don't think this will be the final name. Any suggestions?

The estate of houses, built in the second half of the 19th century for workers at the Żyrardów Linen Factory. It was planned on the basis of terraced housing and regular quarters with residential houses made of unrendered brick. The oldest date back to 1867. The houses still feature characteristic wooden outbuildings with galleries and stairs for residents of these brick buildings.
Żyrardów - small town in Central Poland, located in the Mazovia region. It owes its unique atmosphere to the characteristic architecture of an industrial town. The original spatial layout of the community, which grew around a manufacturing plant in the mid-19th century, has been preserved to the present day. The historic center of Żyrardów (mostly buildings from red bricks) is the only industrial architecture complex from the turn of the 20th c. in Europe that has been preserved to modern times in full. The old settlement covers a 76-ha area in the central part of the town. Diversified architectural forms and styles characterize the city, which has resulted from the multi-cultural character of Żyrardów. The flax trade gave the town its origins. A factory manufacturing flax that was one of the largest and modern factories in Europe was established there in 1829. Karol Dittrich and Karol Hielle, two industrialists from Germany, founded the plant. The town derives its name from the first technical director of the plant, Philip de Girard who, among others, invented a mechanical flax-spinning machine.

Osiedle domów mieszkalnych, wybudowane w drugiej połowie XIXw. dla pracowników Zakładów Lniarskich w Żyrardowie. Zaplanowane zostało w oparciu o zabudowę szeregową oraz regularne kwartały z domami z nieotynkowanej cegły. Najstarsze pochodzą z 1867r. Przy domach zachowały się charakterystyczne drewniane budynki gospodarcze z galeryjkami i schodami przeznaczone dla mieszkańców ceglanych budynków.
Żyrardów leży w centrum Polski, na Mazowszu. Swój niepowtarzalny klimat zawdzięcza charakterystycznej architekturze miasta zaprojektowanej w połowie XIX stulecia. Zabytkowe centrum Żyrardowa jest jedynym w Europie zachowanym w całości zespołem urbanistyczno-architektonicznym miasta przemysłowego przełomu XIX i XX wieku. Osada fabryczna obejmuje centralną część miasta o powierzchni ok. 76 ha. Charakteryzuje ją różnorodność form architektonicznych i stylów, co wynika ze zróżnicowania narodowościowego mieszkańców Żyrardowa. Początek miastu dała fabryka lniarska, która powstała na terenie dzisiejszego Żyrardowa w 1829 roku. Była to jedna z największych i najnowocześniejszych fabryk ówczesnej Europy. Została założona przez dwóch przemysłowców z Niemiec: Karola Dittricha i Karola Hielle. Żyrardów zawdzięcza swą nazwę pierwszemu dyrektorowi technicznemu fabryki, Philipowi de Girard. Q294 runs earlier than it has in past years, it was through Monee before 7pm. It used to be one of my favorite summer evening southbounds on the CN.
Sometimes it has its advantages living in the countryside - especially if there is fresh snow, not a soul around and everything seems to be unsoiled. Freezing off vital body parts but enjoying the scenery. Hoping you do, too! I might keep on boring you with more winter shots to come. This one was taken about 10 minutes from where we live.

Did some layout work today - track checks, points and build the tunnel basic frame which will get covered and landscaped;
At last I've a small space to set up as my railway layout. I'm as yet undecided as to be either fully 9V which ive initially gone with or go with the RC method as RC may form part of my loco builds in the future.
Now to start building trackside items and buildings, fun times :-D

Part of my layout for Phoenix Comicon, I need to add a few more touches to this section and move on.
Hello all,
Sorry for the long silence, have been bussy with school/ exams and other things in life.
The layout hasn't chanced very much since the last post, I added some minor things but not very much.
Today I built up the layout in the living room to check if the tracks were smooth and if there were any other problems and afther some tests I started packing for the Noppenbahner event this weekend.
There are some small things that I need to improve so thats a nice task for tomorrow.

I started work on this build quite a few months ago. Initially intended to be a larger scale scene, I quickly realised I didn't have the time or effort to bother making a whole backdrop, so the build was left to gather dust on my desk through the summer and autumn. I finally revisited it yesterday, shook up the layout to make it a more reasonable shape and size for a vignette and added finishing touches. All in all, I'm rather happy with how this turned out.
