From a while back

Looking down from the urban meteorological tower "Basel-Sperrstrasse" into the street canyon at "Sperrstrasse". This urban meteorological tower was operated by the University of Basel / ETH Zürich / Western University / NUS (Singapore) / University of British Columbia during the Basel Urban Boundary Layer Experiment (BUBBLE, 2001-2002) in Basel, Switzerland to study air flow, energy exchange, microclimate and air quality in cities.

This was as close as I could get but I just thought it was so funny to see two layers of piglets...you have to look close..

I usually shoot scenes like this with my short lenses, but this bit of mist was hanging around the trees across the bayou early in the morning and so the big lens was called into play. Looking toward Armand Bayou Nature Center from close to Bay Area Park.

I haven’t opened Focal Point 2 in ages and it’s been looking lonely in Lightroom lately. I’m back on an HDR kick as lighting is trying to get better around the Central Coast and thought the little town of Avila lent itself well to a mini-effect. The sunset was great and the whole shot probably should have stayed in focus…but this same location is my new favorite watering hole so something tells me I’ll be back…tonight.

Thanks for putting up with another fake tilt!

This is a composite image that I made by scanning the DSi circuit board front and back, then aligning the two images and coloring them red and blue. It can sometimes be easier to trace signals that cross between the front and back layers using this image.

Note that there are also internal signal layers on the DSi, and the only component that's desoldered in this picture is the NAND flash. So, reconstructing a full schematic using this image is nowhere near possible :)

Lots of layers. The obvious layers of sandstone, but also layers of clouds and the landscape in the foreground is banded by different plants, tones, and textures. Then there's layered light throughout the scene. Taken just off Kolob Road, Zion Park, Utah.

I don't know anything about leatherworking, but this fake embossing trick using raised styrene plates worked wonders!

Decoration on the side of the Grady Gammage Memorial Theater on the campus of Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. The building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Wright's design originally was to be used as part of a cultural complex for Baghdad, Iraq.

The crust and topping, golden brown once baked, are chewy and pleasantly sweet, while the filling is rich and velvety.
