Paul Oconnel just as he made his long awaited heinekin cup return after a long injury lay off.Who would have taught that minutes later he would be trundling back to the side after being red carded although in his defence a yellow card would have sufficed in my opinion. I normally dont like selective colour but I have a use for this image I have another version processed where I did a slight desaturation and gaussian blur on the crowds in the backround making paul pop in the image but its still powerfull enough without a second glance what the focal point is. I am trying to put together a collection of images around thomond park and munster. I isolated Paul from the backround using vertus fluid mask which is superb at making a realistic smooth removal..

i really don't remember
it's all so fuzzy
how i got here
where i am now
not where i want to be
i know that
i was on the side
of the road
walking
hands moving
to and fro
with my gait
looking for a lift
for the ride
that gave me a ride
to no where in particular
it was all of the journey
remember the sights
the smells
flowing by the window
in slow motion
to songs so sweet
where the robin sang
while the sun shone
bright on my face
leaning on the glass
the door
warmth
heard the laughter
joyous
effervescent
true
i do remember the ride
smooth and silky
then it ended
must have been in a crash
no warning
no LOOK OUT
now i'm here
recovering
healing
licking the wounds
no one can see
that cut so deep
surviving the pain
no longer in the sun
laying off the curb
in the shadows
inside of shadows
in the bright light
that blinded me
i can't see any more
maybe couldn't see then
no feeling either
paralyzed
from the inside
out
with a wonder
why i didn't die
still need to heal
crawl again
stagger forward
my arm outstretched
hand in a loose fist
thumb out
as they pass me by
i heard it
the laughter
here i am
hitchhiking
again

A time-stamp selfie for my second lay-off. 20 weeks of severance coming up. Round two with them lasted 996 days.
Severance will run through July 16, 2020.
Also making sure my RX100 repair was ok. Seems to be fine.
These are scenes in and around Fries Va next to the New River in Grayson County. Some are of the Washington Cotton Mills which vanished in 1989 laying off 1700 employees. Many are the mill houses left behind from the mills employees.
After years of explosive growth, coding boot camps are starting to scale back, if not shut down altogether. Two schools have announced plans to close this year: Dev Bootcamp in San Francisco and Iron Yard of Greenville, South Carolina. They have deep-pocketed parent companies, too, having...

This is in the hospital district, where I work. Nation-wide, the construction industry isn't doing too well, but high material costs are offset by a flooded labor market here in Detroit thanks to the many lay-offs by the Big Three. Somehow, development still progresses, which is good to see in the city.
Monster Cable stole our Chrismas by laying off 120 workers, denying them fair severance and other benefits, and refusing to meet with them to negotiate.

Jase, approximately 2 minutes after saying he was going to lay off the beer and keep to the soft drinks for a while.
I would never ask for money unless I see it as a necessity, and given my most recent situation, I now see the desperate need for places like Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation center to remain open. I know, like most, because of my recent lay off, that money is not easy to come by these days, which is also exactly the reason Skye’s facility is in danger of having to turn away animals because of limited resources and funding. People just do not see the need to donate when they are pinching pennies together and trying to keep themselves afloat. But please know, even $5 can feed an animal for one day, which is one more day an animal can stay, get better, and be returned to the wild, allowing for one more animal in need to be welcomed into the facility.
I have gone to great lengths to help the recent abandoned fawn in my yard, calling every facility in Pittsburgh and surrounding area, vets in the area, and even a fawn rescue in California for advice, but no one was able to help me…….until I called Mary Jane from Skyes, she said she would take the fawn no matter what, if I could catch him, and offered valuable advice to help him survive on my property. I know, just from the few days of trying to help this fawn, the cost of helping just one animal was already costing me $60, but when you see an innocent creature in distress, all you want to do is help it have a chance to live…everything deserves a chance to live without having to suffer. It is impossible for the average person to care for wildlife, it takes a lot of dedication and caring, and if there was not a place like Skyes, people would just allow animals to suffer needlessly because they have no other option.
Any monetary donation would be extremely appreciated and can be made directly on their website: www.skyes-spirit.com
If you have any questions or would like to offer anything else of value, you can contact Mary Jane directly at: skyespirit@zoominternet.net
Either way, thank you for reading this and keep nature and all things great and small in your thoughts, because we only have one environment to live in (forever), so cherish it and remember to take pleasure in all of the small, wonderful, natural, things around you every day.
Love,
Corinne
In this exercise, drivers put the car in a spin by turning the wheel, laying off the accelerator and pulling up the handbrake. Control is regained by releasing the handbrake, stamping on the accelerator and gently steering the car out of the spin. As the wheels gain traction and the car straightens out, the pressure on the accelerator is reduced and the car steered toward the exit point. It take a couple of tries to get the order right (turn, foor off petrol, handbrake up, handbrake down, foot flat, gentle steer, foot off petrol). The most fun of the skidpan excercises in my opinion.

So I woke up this morning, bright and early, to watch the inauguration speech :)
History in the making guys!
Starbucks seems to be joining in on the patriotic action. I mean, the place is as American as you can get.
Oh yea, and I went to my doctor's appointment today for my knee. Nothing major. Just need to lay off stairs and running and whatnot. No problemo! No more snowboarding for me this season however :\
