It's been along time since I've posted pictures to this account. I know it's a shame, but there were several reasons why I decided to lay off for awhile. I miss the flickr self-portrait commuity though. It's a comforting world. But just for the record... I'm not dead.. just hiding...

These are scenes in and around Fries Va next to the New River in Grayson County. Some are of the Washington Cotton Mills which vanished in 1989 laying off 1700 employees. Many are the mill houses left behind from the mills employees.

This was a set up at Ocean Park showing visitors what old Hong Kong used to look like, so everyone wants to take pictures. The reality is that this lady was probably waiting to take a picture after the couple finished. :)

I wouldn't normally travel spur of the moment to see someone live, but combine a rough time at work, my 39th birthday, possibly lay offs, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins and a first time to a city I'd love to see... it created an opportunity. I heard of the show on my birthday, but knew it was crazy for me to travel to Nashville to see Toby Keith. What would people think? As things got crazier at work and I became more in a rut, I decided... you must take every opportunity as it presents itself. 2 days before I went to Nashville, I purchased tickets to the show and plane tickets. It was by far one of my most memorable weekends and a fabulous time.

Amazon has let go of some of the employees in its Pharmacy business, the company confirmed to CNBC.A "small number" of staffers in the Amazon Pharmacy division were informed Thursday they were being laid off, Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser said in a statement. Roughly 80 employees were laid off, according to Semafor, which previously reported the news.related investing news"Like many businesses, we are always improving our processes, for both quality and efficiency, and identifying how we can deliver on the best customer experience," Glasser said. "As a result, we have made the decision to adjust resources and a small number of roles have been eliminated on the Amazon Pharmacy Services team."The cuts come as Amazon recently wrapped up the largest layoffs in its 29-year history. The company laid off 18,000 employees over several months last fall and earlier this year, then announced an additional 9,000 employees would be let go in March. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has been aggressively slashing costs across the company as the e-retailer reckons with an economic downturn and slowing revenue growth. Jassy has targeted some of Amazon's more unproven bets like grocery and devices, while freezing corporate hiring and slowing warehouse expansion.Amazon's healthcare businesses were affected by the layoffs earlier this year.
