Self portrait set in an interior space in a sequential construct of three frames... and No its not me on a kitchen worktop! There is a deliberate pun in the title and the image intended as a reminder to me to lay off the carbs.

Of course, setting it against a grid patterned background, I had thoughts of Eadweard J. Muybridge when I created this image. A comment on the idea that still image as a slice of time is a myth, an illusion of the conscious mind, which has more to do with the manner in which we process what we perceive than the physical reality of any situation.

The illusion of my merging in and out of the background is a happy accident, which is why I selected it as the central frame in the sequence.

The shadows are getting long turning my visit into a game of "find the sun". Luckily there was this nice clear patch right in front of the station for this eastbound. I have to admit that I do not like the lights right in front of the station, they’re double sided versions of the ones along the platform and just look weird to me; I’m always reminded of triffids or alien invaders of some sort. Maybe I need to lay off the science fiction for a while.

"Achieving together" is another virtue that managers are constantly praying at Nokia.

There is some hope that demonstrating together achieves that Nokia's machiavellian top-managers take over at least some responsibility towards their employees.

What a night! Up to Morristown for a surprise party thrown by my Michele for her hubby and his twin's 30th bday. Awesome party! Once the party was over a bunch of frank's friends and his brother met up w/ us- way too many drinks and lots of aweful blurry pics- this was the only one salvagable! i really need to bust out the camera at the beginning of the night and lay off the extra dirty martinis!

Afternoon Tea in Marrakech

My room-mate, Diane; a fellow single-traveller, Candice, and I manage to 'lose' Aaliyah in Marrakech this afternoon. We enjoyed wandering around the souk then had a very civilised afternoon tea (actually, I had coffee) in the Princess Tea Room.

I've been laying off the sweet stuff but, having not eaten much at all for a few days (dodgy tummy) I felt I could have a treat.

In this exercise, drivers put the car in a spin by turning the wheel, laying off the accelerator and pulling up the handbrake. Control is regained by releasing the handbrake, stamping on the accelerator and gently steering the car out of the spin. As the wheels gain traction and the car straightens out, the pressure on the accelerator is reduced and the car steered toward the exit point. It take a couple of tries to get the order right (turn, foor off petrol, handbrake up, handbrake down, foot flat, gentle steer, foot off petrol). The most fun of the skidpan excercises in my opinion.

I've slowly built up my smoking this year to the point I am now almost back to square one, a regular smoker. After a 13 month lay off I really should have known better.

I have to get back into the frame of mind of a non-smoker. Today I became a non-smoker.

Since I'm currently still feeling hungover, and I can't actually face a cigarette, no better day to stop. :)

Oh and it'll hopefully improve my running, I've not been going out as much as I'd like, I blame the cigarettes for making me lethargic. Only managing two runs a week for the last few weeks, although I have had a game of football each week too.

I think I should lay off this shit for a while...

febuary junior year by the way i post these old pictures of me because i know i'm a loser so lay off. it's all for comic value (assholes)

A group of citizens from Occupy Delaware delivered the following mic check in front of a local Citibank branch on Saturday, December 17th.

youtu.be/IzYCPwCfl9I

We the people, from Occupy Delaware, are foreclosing upon this branch of Citibank, a subsidiary of Citigroup, for Citigroup's high crimes and misdemeanors against its customers, its employees, this community and the people of world.

This foreclosure is done in all seriousness in the stead of our government, which has forced us to act in the face of their inability or unwillingness to address the following crimes by Citigroup.

1. Being an active contributor to the economic crisis by promoting the use of CDO's or Collateralized Debt Obligations.

2. Defrauding their own investors by promoting CDO's, that in private emails were called "a collection of dogshit".

3. Betting against those very same CDOs and reaping profits when they failed, while their investors, customers & the citizens of the world lost their savings, their jobs and their homes.

4. Predatory lending practices AND

5. Unlawful and deceptive foreclosure practices.

We demand that Citigroup be brought to justice for these crimes. And we also demand that that justice does not entail settlements with the SEC, Attorney's General or other governmental institutions that would allow Citigroup to avoid any admission of wrongdoing or liability for these crimes.

We the people demand that Citigroup be put on trial for these crimes!

To add insult to injury, or salt to our wounds, former Citigroup CEO Charles Prince, under whose watch the world economic crisis erupted, said in July 2007:

Quote

...as long as the music is playing, you've got to get up and dance. We're still dancing....

End Quote

Mr Prince danced all the way to the bank with his exit package in excess of 29 million dollars. His reward for ruining our economy.

But let's not exclude current CEO Vikram Pandit who received a retention package for 23.2 million dollars this year.

Why if things are going so well for Mr. Pandit and Citigroup are they laying off an additional 4,500 hundred workers in the coming months?

Call: They call it profits

Response: We call it robbery

Call: They call it profits

Uh, maybe you should lay off the booze before this gets ugly...
