These are the leftovers of a "Neal-Unit" crawler crane. The only thing left is basically the engine compartment and the drivers unit.
Neal-Unit was formed out of a merger between classic UK crane company "R. H. NEAL" and US based "Unit Crane and Shovel Corporation". This merger happend early '60s.
This history of R.H Neal, goes back to the 1920's where it was established in Ealing, West London. It build its first mobile crane in 1930.
Although it had a long and impressive history, via several take-over and mergers it was even part of the biggest crane producer in the world, it still went bankrupt, very suddenly. In 1972 "Coles Cranes" (of which Neal-Unit was a part) was taken over by Acrow Group, but competition from other European manufacturers became overwhelming and from 1982 things started to be going downhill and people got layed off. In 1983 the factory was only working 50% to cut costs and in 1984 the whole group went bankrupt and that was the sudden end.

USA gained the desired revenge for losing to Japan in last year's World Cup final on penalties. There was personal redemption, too, for Carli Lloyd, who answered her missed kick in that 3-1 shootout loss by scoring a goal in each half to seal the Olympic crown for her nation.
Japan were dubbed the Barcelona of the women's game for their flurry of neat passing and slick movement and their average height of 5ft 4in compared to the US's 5ft 7in. The Americans were the big tournament specialists. This was the fifth women's Olympic final and USA were continuing their record of being in all of them, losing only to Norway at Sydney 2000, 3-2.
For Japan, their coach Norio Sasaki framed the attempted conquest of gold as part of the country's healing process, following the trauma of last year's earthquake which killed nearly 20,000 people.
Ahead of this final he said: "All the Japanese people are still trying to come back from the earthquake disaster.
"Winning the World Cup was very emotional last year and gave energy to the nation after what had happened and the same can happen again."
After eight minutes a noisy, though not completely filled Wembley, witnessed the opening strike. Tobin Heath galloped into space down the left before Alex Morgan's twist and cross was met by Carli Lloyd, just ahead of the 143-goal Abby Wambach.
Far from being unsettled, Japan went in search of an instant reply. A shot from Nahomi Kawasumi was blocked by the USA captain, Christie Rampone, with Hope Solo, the keeper, stranded. Yuki Ogimi followed up but could not convert.
Ogimi went closer moments later. A hanging jump was followed by the forward's header being superbly palmed onto the bar b y Solo.
The goal-frame proved an extra defender for both sides. Amy LePeilbet's cross was met with a glancing header by Rampone that hit Yuki Fukomoto's right post. At the opposite end, Aya Miyama's pile-driver smashed back off the bar.
Ogimi was instrumental in every Japan attack. Her lay-off nine minutes from half-time was hit with a menacing curl by Shinobu Ohno but the ball was marginally wide of the post.
The open, entertaining nature of this contest continued after the break. Japan spread the ball across midfield only for their attacks to founder due to a belief deficit. When given sight of goal – as Miyama, the captain, on 52 minutes – the opportunity was snatched at.
When America flooded forward there was menace. After Megan Rapinoe laid the ball into Lloyd, she surged from near half-way then unloaded a 20-yard humdinger that gave the 5ft 4in keeper Fukumoto no chance, and that was 2-0 to Pia Sunhage's team.
In the 63nd minute Japan's Ogimi raised the excitement scale to fevered after her strike, though this proved a consolation as the neat triangles that were ending in cul-de-sacs continued to frustrate the Japanese.
The world champions still had their chances but when Miyama had two free-kicks to deliver in quick succession, her side failed to profit.

The Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary or United States Penitentiary, Alcatraz Island (often just referred to as Alcatraz or the Rock) was a maximum high-security federal prison on Alcatraz Island, 1.25 miles (2.01 km) off the coast of San Francisco, California, which operated from August 11, 1934, until March 21, 1963.
The main prison building was built in 1910–1912 during its time as a United States Army military prison; Alcatraz had been the site of a citadel since the 1860s. The United States Disciplinary Barracks, Pacific Branch on Alcatraz was acquired by the United States Department of Justice on October 12, 1933, and the island became a prison of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in August 1934 after the buildings were modernized to meet the requirements of a top-notch security prison. Given this high security and the location of Alcatraz in the cold waters and strong currents of San Francisco Bay, the prison operators believed Alcatraz to be escape-proof and America's strongest prison.
Alcatraz was designed to hold prisoners who continuously caused trouble at other federal prisons. One of the world's most notorious and best known prisons over the years, Alcatraz housed some 1,576 of America's most ruthless criminals including Al Capone, Robert Franklin Stroud(the "Birdman of Alcatraz"), George "Machine Gun" Kelly, Bumpy Johnson, Rafael Cancel Miranda, Mickey Cohen, Arthur R. "Doc" Barker, Whitey Bulger, and Alvin "Creepy" Karpis (who served more time at Alcatraz than any other inmate). It also provided housing for the Bureau of Prisons' staff and their families. A total of 36 prisoners made 14 escape attempts during the 29 years of the prison's existence, the most notable of which were the violent escape attempt of May 1946 known as the "Battle of Alcatraz", and the arguably successful "Escape from Alcatraz" by Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin in June 1962 in one of the most intricate escapes ever devised. Faced with high maintenance costs and a poor reputation, Alcatraz closed on March 21, 1963.
The three-story cellhouse included the main four blocks of the jail, A-block, B-block, C-block, and D-block, the warden's office, visitation room, the library, and the barber shop. The prison cells typically measured 9 feet (2.7 m) by 5 feet (1.5 m) and 7 feet (2.1 m) high. The cells were primitive and lacked privacy, with a bed, a desk and a washbasin and toilet on the back wall, with few furnishings except a blanket. African-Americans were segregated from the rest in cell designation due to racial abuse being prevalent. D-Block housed the worst inmates and five cells at the end of it were designated as "The Hole", where badly behaving prisoners would be sent for periods of punishment, often brutally so. The dining hall and kitchen lay off the main building in an extended part where both prisoners and staff would eat three meals a day together. The Alcatraz Hospital was above the dining hall.
Corridors of the prison were named after major American streets such as Broadway and Michigan Avenue. Working at the prison was considered a privilege for inmates and many of the better inmates were employed in the Model Industries Building and New Industries Building during the day, actively involved in providing for the military in jobs such as sewing and woodwork and performing various maintenance and laundry chores.
Today the penitentiary is a public museum and one of San Francisco's major tourist attractions, attracting some 1.5 million visitors annually. The former prison is now operated by the National Park Service's Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and the badly eroded buildings of the former prison have been subject to restoration works in recent times and maintained

Formally the KINGSTON IBM site closed since 1996 and laying off or moving over 7000 people and renamed TECH CITY in 1998 in hopes of reusing the site and buildings but very little business moved in over the years and in the last year or so many buildings from the 1950's to the early 1980's are being demolished and many more will follow.

When the Italian Helmet dash race started the other night at the Ascot Speedway, Manager Regeland of the track said that in his estimation Kelly Petillo had taken a good look at the fair charmer, Dorothy Layton, who was slated to present the helmet to the winner, and that he had gone plumb crazy to cop the much coveted crown and the kiss from the Hal Roach star actress.
One glance at the way Kelly was breaking all records made you believe every Word of the statement, and as quick as you could say "Jack Robinson," the speed demon came home a winner. Miss Layton is shown here crowning the winner.
Every one applauded, and was she glad (meaning Miss Layton), for she, too, had her eagle eye set on Kelly to win the minute the race started and she pulled for him the rest of the evening to come through in the bigger events.

100-Lap Main Event at the Legion Ascot Speedway Next Wednesday Night
Next Wednesday night promises to be another night of thrills for the spectators at the Legion Ascot Speedway, when they have another 100-lap main event. There will also be a 15-lap event for non-Miller cars, giving those drivers who haven't such powerful cars, a better chance to prove their driving ability.
Have you noticed the difference in the driving of the two classes of cars? The Miller drivers have so much power in their motors that they have to shut off their motors, or use their brakes, before going into the turns, while the non-Miller cars are driven with their motors wide open throughout the race. It takes real driving ability to handle one of these cars when they go into a skid or spin and with these boys getting a better break on the track, you can look for some of the favorites of tomorrow to develop out of these drivers. In fact, that is where your favorites of today started.
Kelly Petillo won the Helmet Dash last Wednesday night and was presented with the beautiful Helmet and the Kiss by none other than Priscilla Dean. In the main event Ernie Triplett took the lead at the first turn and held it for the entire 50-laps with Lester Spangler finishing second, Sam Palmer third, Carl Ryder fourth, Mel McKee fifth and Kelly Petillo sixth.
Babe Stapp was back on the track last Wednesday night after a several months' lay-off due to his accident last spring. Babe did some beautiful driving in the Helmet Dash and the first ten-lap heat, but his arm is still not strong enough to stand the strain of the grueling driving and he turned his car over to Mel McKee to drive in the main event. However, in a few more weeks Babe's arm will be strong enough to allow him to give the boys at the track some real competition. We'll beseeinya.

D-Block housed the worst inmates and five cells at the end of it were designated as "The Hole", where badly behaving prisoners would be sent for periods of punishment, often brutally so. The dining hall and kitchen lay off the main building in an extended part where both prisoners and staff would eat three meals a day together. The Alcatraz Hospital was above the dining hall.
Corridors of the prison were named after major American streets such as Broadway and Michigan Avenue. I left the bar this morning @ my usual time, driving home I heard something one of the DJ's talking about more layoffs with the muppets, didn't really pay much attention.
So I'm sitting in bed, listening to the TV while flipping thru Vanity Fair when I see that Sesame Street is laying off some of their staff. I'm not sure why; but of all the companies that have been having layoffs, this one has probably upset me the most. I've had so many friends (myself and my dad included) that have lost jobs and former employers lay off more friends and I do feel bad for them, but for some reason hearing this really sucks.
Who are they gonna let go? Actors? Screen writers, puppeteers? This really sucks. These people are teachers, they inspire literacy, creativity and provoke you to think!! What more can you ask for at a young age. Somehow when you leave the *kid* stage, you forget to do those things.
So what if Sesame Street only had 300 or so employees 20% is too many people. It sucks and yea, it makes me saddened and upset. However there are other opportunities out there for those unfortunate ones. Who knows, this downturn can turn into an eventual blessing ~ if you look closely enough.

I watched Sesame Street until I was about 22 years old. From 18-22 I would watch Sesame Street in Spanish while getting ready for work.
Right about the time Elmo and all the new characters came out, I couldn't bear to watch his scenes, much less the show anymore.
My favorite characters are Oscar, The Count, Slimy the worm, the Yip Yip's, Bert and Ernie and Grover (oh yea, and Cookie Monster!)

Just thought I'd share that with you all. It still sucks, but it goes to show this crap affects us all. Boooo!!!
Killer Whales of the west coast of Whalsay, weather conditions were low cloud and mostly calm dry conditions. The Killer Whales (Orcas) were first spotted on the east side of the calf of Linga an Island which is situated of Symbister Harbour. The whales then proceeded into the north west traveling between islands Bruceholm and Hunderholm headed to a bight which lays off mainland Shetland called Bunnydale, here the whales frolicked around breaching and playing swimming upside down etc. Here as you will see in one of the photos the whale also grabbed a tystie for a snack. They then left this location and headed south again around the island of Hunderholm and carried on proceeding south towards nesting and Lerwick area. In the pod there were 2 large Killer Whales and three smaller cubs. The whales travelled at a speed around 6-7 knots into the south.

"Doc" Barker, Whitey Bulger, and Alvin "Creepy" Karpis (who served more time at Alcatraz than any other inmate). It also provided housing for the Bureau of Prisons' staff and their families. A total of 36 prisoners made 14 escape attempts during the 29 years of the prison's existence, the most notable of which were the violent escape attempt of May 1946 known as the "Battle of Alcatraz", and the arguably successful "Escape from Alcatraz" by Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin in June 1962 in one of the most intricate escapes ever devised. Faced with high maintenance costs and a poor reputation, Alcatraz closed on March 21, 1963.
The three-story cellhouse included the main four blocks of the jail, A-block, B-block, C-block, and D-block, the warden's office, visitation room, the library, and the barber shop. The prison cells typically measured 9 feet (2.7 m) by 5 feet (1.5 m) and 7 feet (2.1 m) high. Corridors of the prison were named after major American streets such as Broadway and Michigan Avenue. Working at the prison was considered a privilege for inmates and many of the better inmates were employed in the Model Industries Building and New Industries Building during the day, actively involved in providing for the military in jobs such as sewing and woodwork and performing various maintenance and laundry chores.
Today the penitentiary is a public museum and one of San Francisco's major tourist attractions, attracting some 1.5 million visitors annually. "Supervisor Roger Quindel made news last week when he introduced a resolution proposing that the Milwaukee County Board rescind its policy of banning the sale of Pabst Brewing Company’s products by Milwaukee County departments. The policy was put into effect in 1996 to express the county board’s disapproval of the closing of Pabst’s Milwaukee plant; the loss of 245 brewery jobs; and the cancellation of health insurance and death benefits for nearly 800 retirees.

USA gained the desired revenge for losing to Japan in last year's World Cup final on penalties. There was personal redemption, too, for Carli Lloyd, who answered her missed kick in that 3-1 shootout loss by scoring a goal in each half to seal the Olympic crown for her nation.
Japan were dubbed the Barcelona of the women's game for their flurry of neat passing and slick movement and their average height of 5ft 4in compared to the US's 5ft 7in. The Americans were the big tournament specialists. This was the fifth women's Olympic final and USA were continuing their record of being in all of them, losing only to Norway at Sydney 2000, 3-2.
For Japan, their coach Norio Sasaki framed the attempted conquest of gold as part of the country's healing process, following the trauma of last year's earthquake which killed nearly 20,000 people.
Ahead of this final he said: "All the Japanese people are still trying to come back from the earthquake disaster.
"Winning the World Cup was very emotional last year and gave energy to the nation after what had happened and the same can happen again."
After eight minutes a noisy, though not completely filled Wembley, witnessed the opening strike. Tobin Heath galloped into space down the left before Alex Morgan's twist and cross was met by Carli Lloyd, just ahead of the 143-goal Abby Wambach.
Far from being unsettled, Japan went in search of an instant reply. A shot from Nahomi Kawasumi was blocked by the USA captain, Christie Rampone, with Hope Solo, the keeper, stranded. Yuki Ogimi followed up but could not convert.
Ogimi went closer moments later. A hanging jump was followed by the forward's header being superbly palmed onto the bar b y Solo.
The goal-frame proved an extra defender for both sides. Amy LePeilbet's cross was met with a glancing header by Rampone that hit Yuki Fukomoto's right post. At the opposite end, Aya Miyama's pile-driver smashed back off the bar.
Ogimi was instrumental in every Japan attack. Her lay-off nine minutes from half-time was hit with a menacing curl by Shinobu Ohno but the ball was marginally wide of the post.
The open, entertaining nature of this contest continued after the break. Japan spread the ball across midfield only for their attacks to founder due to a belief deficit. When given sight of goal – as Miyama, the captain, on 52 minutes – the opportunity was snatched at.
When America flooded forward there was menace. After Megan Rapinoe laid the ball into Lloyd, she surged from near half-way then unloaded a 20-yard humdinger that gave the 5ft 4in keeper Fukumoto no chance, and that was 2-0 to Pia Sunhage's team.
In the 63nd minute Japan's Ogimi raised the excitement scale to fevered after her strike, though this proved a consolation as the neat triangles that were ending in cul-de-sacs continued to frustrate the Japanese.
The world champions still had their chances but when Miyama had two free-kicks to deliver in quick succession, her side failed to profit.

On board the Shinkansen bullet train from Hiroshima, on the way bak to Osaka. This is my second Shinkansen bullet train ride here in Japan- third actually, if you consider my journey to Hiroshima as another one. So the three Shinkansen rides are Tokyo - Kyoto, Osaka to Hiroshima and now back from Hiroshima to Osaka. I had decided at the spur of the moment on the previous day to to lay off capturing markets and trains and streets and temples and to skip the Ramen museum and the Spa World onsen (bath house) to get serious a bit, to visit Hiroshima, to see the horrors of the American atom bomb here,and also to check out the UNESCO World Heritage listed Itsukushma shrine. These two make up most of this album. (see previous pictures). Back to this picture, almost all Shinkansen bullet trains have seats laid out in a 3 - 2 layout. The kind gentleman at Osaka station had been kind enough to give me a window seat on the 2 seats side. Luckily for me, there was no one next to me on both legs of the journey. Princess Marguerite II.
In 1948-1949, two new 5,911-ton coastal passenger liners were built for the Canadian Pacific Railway by the Fairfield Shipbuilders and Engineers Company Ltd., Glasgow, Scotland, at a cost of $4 million each. The sister ships, 373 feet long and 56 feet abeam, were powered by twin-screw steam turbo-electric drives, and had a maximum service speed of 23 knots. They were designed for the now famous Triangle Route between Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver during the summer months. The ships could accommodate 2,000 passengers and had space for approximately 60 vehicles on the car deck. The vessels were fitted with only 51 staterooms, which allowed room for extremely spacious and comfortable lounges, public, areas and decks. Each ship boasted a Grande Staircase, an elegant wood-paneled formal dining room and coffee shop, a ballroom, a cocktail lounge, an observation lounge, and wide promenade decks.
The keel of the SS Princess Marguerite II, the first of these small luxury liners, was launched on May 26, 1948. The ship left Scotland on March 5, 1949, for her 9,600-mile maiden voyage via the Panama Canal to Esquimalt B.C., arriving on April 6, 1949. After cleanup and repainting, the Princess Marguerite II entered service on April 28, 1949, maintaining a four-hour schedule between Seattle and Victoria. The second steamer, the SS Princess Patricia, arrived in Victoria on June 15 1949. The liners moored near the CPR's Empress Hotel in Victorias Inner Harbor, and in Seattle at the Canadian Pacific Railway Dock, Pier 64, on Alaskan Way near the foot of Lenora Street.
The Princess Marguerite II continued this service through the summer of 1974. On the morning of September 15, 1974, the ship sailed from Elliott Bay on her last trip to Victoria, ending 70 years of service by CPR steamers between the two cities. In April 1975 the Princess Marguerite II was sold to the B.C. Steamship Company Ltd., a subsidiary of the British Columbia government. The cost of the ship plus 8.7 acres of CPR property bordering Victorias Inner Harbor was $2.5 million.
The vessel was given an extensive overhaul and refit at the Yarrows Shipyard in Esquimalt before returning to service on June 1, 1975. The ship was licensed to carry 1,800 passengers, and the car ferry service was eliminated. The Princess Marguerite II, her two funnels emblazoned with the red, white and blue Union Jack of the B.C. government and painted white and gold from stem to stern, returned to Seattle amid great fanfare. Among the dignitaries on board were Washington State Governor Daniel J. Evans (b. 1925), British Columbia Premier David Barrett (b. 1930) and Seattle Mayor Wesley C. Uhlman (b. 1935).
At the end of the 1979 summer season, B.C. Steamship Company decided that because the Princess Marguerite II was over 30 years old, lacked mandatory sewage holding tanks and had a high rate of fuel consumption, she should be scrapped. She was replaced on the Seattle-Victoria run by a B. C. Ferries passenger-car ferry, the M/V Queen of Prince Rupert, renamed the Victoria Princess. But this vessel had a capacity of only 800 passengers and, because she had inadequate docking facilities in Victoria and Seattle, carried no vehicles. The B.C. Steamship Company leased a Boeing hydrofoil they named the Flying Princess to supplement the service.
The M/V Victoria Princess was perceived as just another ferryboat that lacked the Princess Marguerites charm and, because of poor public patronage, the 1980 summer season was a financial disaster. Thousands of residents and merchants in Victoria and Seattle pressured the B.C. Steamship Company to Bring back the Maggie. The British Columbia government ordered a feasibility study and determined the Princess Marguerite II could be modernized and overhauled for $4.7 million, adding at least 15 years to her service life. The ship was sent to the Yarrows Shipyard in Esquimalt for another major refitting.
On May 8, 1981, the Princess Marguerite II returned to service. In addition to the sewage-holding tanks, the ship was fitted with a new galley and boilers. To meet safety and engineering standards, new life-saving equipment was installed and the ships electrical systems were modernized. The passenger areas were reconfigured to include a solarium on the stern plus areas for playing cards and electronic games. Because of the rising cost of oil, the ships high rate of fuel consumption was still a problem. To increase revenue, the B.C. Steamship Company restored the practice of carrying automobiles and bicycles.
In September 1986, the B.C. Steamship Company decided to operate a second ship on the Seattle-Victoria run for the 1987 season. The 430-foot Vancouver Island Princess, formerly owned by B.C. Ferries, was scheduled to operate on a reverse schedule from the Princess Marguerite II. The Vancouver Island Princess had a 140-vehicle capacity and a high clearance deck enabling the ship to carry tour busses and large recreational vehicles. The company was banking on Victorias popular tour-bus industry to fill the ship. In addition, the provincial government instituted gambling and slot machines on both vessels. During the 1987 season, the Princess Marguerite II and the Vancouver Island Princess carried about 275,000 passengers and 25,000 vehicles. The gambling operation brought in an additional $800,000 in revenue.
In February 1988, the British Columbia government began looking for a private company to share in the operation of the B.C. Steamship Company as a joint venture. The government would retain a minority interest in the company and run the casinos as required by Canadian law. They sold the two vessels to the Stena Line of Sweden, a large company operating cruise ships, ferryboats, and hotels throughout Scandinavia and the United Kingdom, for $6 million. The new B.C. Stena Line Company, formed in July 1988, decided to operate the Princess Marguerite II on a year-round schedule starting with the 1989 season. The vessel was refurbished with new duty-free shops, dining rooms, and a large gambling area with slot machines. To make the voyages more pleasant, the number of passengers was reduced from 1,800 to 1,400, and the automobile ferry service was again discontinued.
Her Last Years
But the Seattle-Victoria service lost money, so on September 14, 1989, B.C. Stena Line, blaming high operating costs, announced that the Princess Marguerite II would be retired, possibly becoming a floating restaurant, hotel or casino on the Victoria waterfront. At 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 17, 1989, the Princess Marguerites familiar steam whistle signaled her final round-trip voyage from Seattle to Victoria. The ship returned its last passengers to Seattle about 10:30 p.m., then departed for Victoria about 3:30 a.m., without fanfare and without passengers.
The B.C. Stena Line put the Princess Marguerite II up for sale in late 1989. Under an agreement with the British Columbia government, the vessel could only be sold to a buyer who would agree to keep her in Victoria. But on November 16, 1989, the B.C. Stena Line, claiming to have lost $10 million on the venture, suddenly went out of business. The Princess Marguerite II and the Vancouver Island Princess were seized under a court order obtained by the Canadian Merchant Service Guild. The guild claimed that B.C. Stena Line had failed to give proper notification before laying off 200 employees and owed about $750,000 in wages, severance, and vacation pay. The British Columbia government continued to review offers to purchase the Princess Marguerite II, explaining that, if necessary, it would exercise its option to buy back the ship from the Stena Line of Sweden and sell it to the group with the best proposal.
Heritage Canada, a private organization, petitioned Canadian Environment Minister Lucien Bouchard to designate the Princess Marguerite II as a historic ship and asked the owners of the Stena Line to keep her in Victoria. Two Seattle businessmen proposed setting up an international trust to preserve the old steamer as a museum. There were also meetings of Vancouver Island mayors in Courtenay, B.C. to explore ways of saving the vessel.
The campaigns to save the Princess Marguerite II proved unsuccessful and in December 1990, the British Columbia government gave the Stena Line approval to sell the ship for $1.5 million to the Mykris Hotels Group of Bristol, England, for use as a floating hotel. The deal with Mykris Hotels fell through in June 1991 and the vessel was sold to Sea Containers Ltd. of London, one of Europes largest operators of ferryboats, cruise ships, and hotels. On February 20, 1992, the Princess Marguerite II was towed from Esquimalt to Singapore and refitted as a floating gambling casino for the Asian market. In August 1992, Sea Containers Ltd. agreed to consider proposals for reinstating the steamer to service on the Seattle-Victoria run. Apparently the offers were insufficient because the Princess Marguerite II never returned to the Pacific Northwest.
In January 1995, Eastern and Oriental Express Ltd., a subsidiary of Sea Containers Ltd., entered into a $35 million contract with the Burmese government (now Myanmar) to operate a river cruise liner on the Irrawaddy River between Mandalay and the ancient city of Pagan, and a floating hotel. Their plan was to convert the Princess Marguerite II into a 105-room hotel in Singapore, then tow her to Rangoon, to be permanently moored as the Rangoon River Hotel. The project, scheduled for completion in mid-1996, was terminated for unknown reasons and instead Sea Containers Ltd. sold the ship for scrap. On April 19, 1996, she was towed to the Alang ship-breaking yards near the port city of Bhavnagar in the State of Gujarat on the West Coast of India. There, in 1997, Arya Steel Ltd. broke her up.
