In partnership with Concordia Language Villages, we took part in a day dedicated to the many languages of Mia. We engaged in some wordplay with artists and educators from around the globe, sang songs in a new language, and played games that expanded our vocab.
i was walking down the street and saw a playing card turned face down.
i nudged it with my foot, hoping to flip it over
failing, i bent down and flipped it over
jack of spades
i stood, contemplating the possible meaning of finding that particular card
as i walked away i noticed a lady staring at me like i was crazy or homeless or at
least trying to figure out what the hell i was doing
i thought "what, you don't ever flip over playing cards that are face down on the sidewalk? how sad ." and "i wish she was a curious woman"

Explores almost 200 years of Deaf life in America and presents a broad range of perspectives on what it means to be deaf. The film is propelled by the stories of people, both eminent and ordinary, and sheds lights on events that have shaped Deaf lives: the creation of schools for deaf students, the debate about American Sign Language, the campaign for a deaf-friendly telephone (the TTY), the fight for a deaf president at Gallaudet University, and some very loud rock and roll.

To counter those issues the group proposed several solutions. A) Media campaign to raise awareness, B) leading by example through usage of the Arabic language, C) legislating laws to protect the Arabic language in schools, D) increasing Arabic content on the internet

In addition to having the language classes (Chinese, English, whatever), this is also where you pay your tuition. To people who don't speak English. That was fun!

UNICODE 5.1.0 meets Or-Omcode∞.1.0
Unicode represents the Tower ob Babel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel In computing, Unicode is an industry standard allowing computers to consistently represent and manipulate text expressed in most of the world's writing systems. Developed in tandem with the Universal Character Set standard and published in book form as The Unicode Standard, Unicode consists of a repertoire of more than 100,000 characters, a set of code charts for visual reference, an encoding methodology and set of standard character encodings, an enumeration of character properties such as upper and lower case, a set of reference data computer files, and a number of related items, such as character properties, rules for normalization, decomposition, collation, rendering and bidirectional display order (for the correct display of text containing both right-to-left scripts, such as Arabic or Hebrew, and left-to-right scripts). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UniCode
Or-Omcode∞.1.0 represents a new Universal Language de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universalsprache derived within the Doctine Of Essense by

Bangladesh celebrated International Mother Language Day on 21 February placing garlands at the Shaheed Minar, or the Martyr's monument, at the Dhaka University Campus. First commemorated as Language Martyrs’ Day it is a day of remembrance reserved for the young men who were killed in 1952 when police opened fire at a student’s campaign to establish Bangla as the language of the then East Pakistan. UNESCO declared it 'International Mother Language Day,” in 1999. Dhaka, Bangladesh. February 21, 2010.

A pet project for language study. Upload your own content and flip through it (content exists only in session memory). Frivels added as I wish to experiment. Current thoughts:
--Select menu sorting
--Database
--Saved Sessions (cookies)
--User accounts and related file management (for experiment only; cookieless session saves, etc)
Works in FireFox and IE (font issues), but not Opera or Safari.
