Unicode represents the Tower ob Babel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel In computing, Unicode is an industry standard allowing computers to consistently represent and manipulate text expressed in most of the world's writing systems. Developed in tandem with the Universal Character Set standard and published in book form as The Unicode Standard, Unicode consists of a repertoire of more than 100,000 characters, a set of code charts for visual reference, an encoding methodology and set of standard character encodings, an enumeration of character properties such as upper and lower case, a set of reference data computer files, and a number of related items, such as character properties, rules for normalization, decomposition, collation, rendering and bidirectional display order (for the correct display of text containing both right-to-left scripts, such as Arabic or Hebrew, and left-to-right scripts). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UniCode

Blue-winged kookaburra (Dacelo leachii) also known as the Galdurkk in the local aboriginal language. This species, as other kookaburra, belongs to the kingfishers.
This is a less well known kookaburra compared to the well known 'laughing kookaburra' of more southern Australia. I have posted a picture of the laughing kookaburra previously in my photostream. This guy was found just off the road, north of Gungurul in Kakadu National Park.
We saw this guy as we drove down the road by the flash of blue as it flew between trees.....sighted by my PhD student Ashley Boggs.
Nice view large on black - press 'L'
i was walking down the street and saw a playing card turned face down.
i nudged it with my foot, hoping to flip it over
failing, i bent down and flipped it over
jack of spades
i stood, contemplating the possible meaning of finding that particular card
as i walked away i noticed a lady staring at me like i was crazy or homeless or at
least trying to figure out what the hell i was doing
i thought "what, you don't ever flip over playing cards that are face down on the sidewalk? how sad ." and "i wish she was a curious woman"

oThe Arabic Language workshop was moderated by Suzanne Talhouk. The problems that were defined were the lack of love for the Arabic language, the poor perceived image of Arabic speakers and a lack of cultural Arabic production that draws the Arab youth. To counter those issues the group proposed several solutions. A) Media campaign to raise awareness, B) leading by example through usage of the Arabic language, C) legislating laws to protect the Arabic language in schools, D) increasing Arabic content on the internet
