Amanecer desde el monte Mendaur que estuvo a punto de fastidiarse por la gran cantidad de nubes, pero gracias a estas nubes pudimos disfrutar de unos colores inolvidables.

The Pyrenees breathe in silence.

Their ancient spines curve like sleeping titans beneath a sky painted in brushstrokes of fire and hush. The sun has just ducked behind the edge of the world, leaving behind a tender glow that bleeds into the cloud-draped valleys. Shadows settle gently into the creases of the land, while waves of mist roll like whispered lullabies between the crags. It feels as though the mountains are exhaling dreams.

A moment like this doesn’t ask anything of you. It simply is — breathtaking in its stillness, perfect in its indifference. You stand on the edge of it, a lone observer watching the skin of the world slip into something softer, quieter, unreal.

But here’s the catch — it is unreal.

This beauty, this hush, this sense of something sacred stirring beneath the surface... it’s all part of the veil. Maya. Not deceitful, not malicious. Just exquisitely designed to keep you enchanted, to keep you dreaming. The mountains, the mist, the mesmerizing palette of twilight — they don't lie. But they don't tell the whole truth, either. They’re props in the play, fog machines on the stage.

You think you’re looking at nature. Maybe you even feel close to God. But what you're really close to is the edge of the mask — and you don’t want to see what's behind it. Not really.

Because beneath the velvet fog and poetic thoughts, there’s no you. No past, no future. Just the clean, unglamorous truth of what is — not dressed up for your comfort. It doesn’t care how spiritual you feel. It doesn’t care if you’re moved to tears. The veil is beautiful for a reason: to keep you from tearing it down.

But sometimes — rarely — in a moment like this, when the world feels too perfect to be real, a thread unravels. A flicker behind the sky. And if you're not too busy capturing it, explaining it, romanticizing it, you might see it for what it is:

The dream showing you it’s a dream.

And that? That’s where the real journey begins.

Here is a telephoto landscape taken near where I found the Phainopepla in the Mohave Desert of Clark county Nevada. I have been neglecting my landscape photography and had hoped to spend some time taking landscapes this past weekend but unfortunately the weather was poor and time was short and I was somewhat lazy with breaking out my wide angle glass. I thought this one taken with my 100-400 turned out well though. This location is south of Bunkerville, NV.

A hike at Lake Constance (Bodensee) near Bregenz, Austria.

This view looks west from atop the Queen's Wharf Tower on the waterfront in Newcastle, NSW.

The scene features part of the Inner Basin. The floating dock, a fixture at the time, was removed by early 2013 and the ship repair facility in the foreground began being dismantled at about the same time. Beyond both can just be seen part of the marina in Throsby Creek.

WIerdest moment at the lake - super thick smoke with a sudden splash of sunshine. This wee boy was playing with his mommy on the waterfront. This is very different from my other work but I do like it.

This is pretty much how it came from camera - I had to add a bit of exposure on the lake for it was a bit overeposed with light but that brougt out the lovely lines of white. I really need to get filters for these lake shots!
