“In my dreams, I met Fu Dalu, the spirit of the abaca, weaving the t’nalak. She taught me the various patterns including the bankiring (hair bangs), the gondong sungi (classic), the bulinglangit (clouds) and the kabangi (butterfly) in full red and black dyes.”

- Lang Dulay

The colors show the character of the T’bolis. Black spells the struggle of the ethnic heroes which characterizes the people now, and red for their love and courage.

T’nalak is a hard-woven cloth made of abaca fibers with geometric designs and originally in color combination of red, black and natural abaca fiber. Intricately crafted by the T’bolis of Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, it is said that one has to dream of the T’nalak in order to make one. The T’nalak Festival is the Dreamweaver’s Festival!

in the upper portion of the photo is the Hikong Alo (falls #1 of 7) and the place where i took this photo is a danger zone since it's near the falls #2 (highest waterfall among the 7 falls) and they never allowed people to be in that area.. :) i just told them that this will just be a real quick..

A fisherman on a dugout canoe. He made balancing on one end of the canoe looked so easy. I tried it before, as a young lad, when our family visited Lake Sebu on some weekends. I always end up in the water.
