Die Rocca Borromeo di Angera, oder Rocca d'Angera, auch Burg Borromeo genannt, ist eine Rocca auf einem Hügel oberhalb der Stadt Angera in der Provinz Varese am Südufer des Lago Maggiore. Es hat mittelalterliche Ursprünge und gehörte ursprünglich dem Mailänder Erzbischof.
The Rocca Borromeo di Angera, or Rocca d'Angera, also called Borromeo Castle, is a rocca on a hill above the town of Angera in the province of Varese on the southern shore of Lake Maggiore. It has medieval origins and originally belonged to the Archbishop of Milan.

Isola Bella is een van de Borromeïsche Eilanden die liggen in het Italiaanse deel van het Lago Maggiore.
In 1630 werd het eiland door de rijke en machtige graaf Carlo III Borromeo gekocht. Hij noemde het naar zijn vrouw Isabella. Later werd de naam afgekort waardoor het nu Isola Bella heet, hetgeen mooi eiland betekent.
Carlo liet een kasteel in barok-stijl bouwen, samen met een tuin. De tuin bestaat uit tien terrassen die trapsgewijs zijn opgebouwd. In de tuinen van Villa Borromeo, die gevuld zijn met antieke beelden, lopen traditioneel een aantal witte pauwen. De familie Borromeo, die eens een heilige afleverde: Carolus Borromeus, bewoont het eiland jaarlijks gedurende enkele weken.

Isola Bella is one of the Borromean Islands located in the Italian part of Lake Maggiore.
In 1630, the island was purchased by the wealthy and powerful Count Carlo III Borromeo. He named it after his wife Isabella. Later, the name was shortened, and it is now called Isola Bella, meaning "beautiful island."
Carlo commissioned the construction of a Baroque castle and a garden. The garden consists of ten terraces arranged in tiers. A number of white peacocks traditionally roam the gardens of Villa Borromeo, which are filled with ancient statues. The Borromeo family, who once produced a saint, Charles Borromeo, resides on the island for several weeks each year.
