The villages of Derwent and Ashopton were flooded to create Ladybower Reservoir seen here from Bamford Edge.
HDR Pano from this mornings early rise.
I started off in Castlefield and once I'd got over the fact there would be no inversion I headed towards Ladybower. Beautiful hues going on in the sky but from my position in the valley the sunrise didn't amount to much.
Soul reset and back home in a good mood for the day.
Back out shooting with little brother caleb4ever, what a beautiful day we had.
Please take a minute to press L and view in large!
A 4:30am start saw us hitting Ladybower for sunrise. I am not good with early mornings, so I was glad it was worth getting up for! Very little editing done here, my SOOC photo is in the comments!
Ladybower Reservoir and the viaduct with Bamford Edge beyond taken from Crookhill Farm. Thick cloud was lifting allowing rays of light to pick out autumn colour.

Ladybower Reservoir is a large Y-shaped reservoir, the lowest of three in the Upper Derwent Valley in Derbyshire. The River Ashop flows into the reservoir from the west; the River Derwent flows south, initially through Howden Reservoir, then Derwent Reservoir, and finally through Ladybower Reservoir.
The area is now a tourist attraction, with the Fairholmes visitors' centre located at the northern tip of Ladybower.
One of two bridges crossing the reservoir near here. Much needed water but I was filled with sadness when I saw the remains of villages flooded in order to make it about 1935.
This shot was taken early on Boxing day the software i use to stitch my pano`s runs off with the date !!!
Ladybower Reservoir was completed in 1943 but took until 1945 to fill. It's unusual design has two bellmouth overflows (locals name these plugholes) The building of this third reservoir in the Derwent valley resulted in the drowning of two villages.
I was up early as usual so i got here for sunrise. Unfortunately there was too much low cloud. I still got some nice long exposure shots so all wasn't lost.
