Another pre-lockdown image from an early morning visit to Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire. The surface was extremely calm, as it often can be in this particular leg of the reservoir, which is sheltered from the prevailing wind.
There was a mirror surface at Ladybower on Saturday, providing some great opportunities for photography. I liked the triangles created by the early light hitting this grassy bank sloping down to the water's edge.
Determined to get out today despite the driving rain, Ladybower Reservoir is a large Y-shaped reservoir, the lowest of three in the Upper Derwent Valley in Derbyshire, England. The River Ashop flows into the reservoir from the west; the River Derwent flows south, initially through Howden Reservoir, then Derwent Reservoir, and finally through Ladybower Reservoir.

An early morning view of the western spillway of Ladybower Reservoir. This view shows that the water level is only a few metres from overflowing. A remarkable change in levels compared to just a few weeks ago.
Thought I'd have a quick break from the chaos of having to clear 33 years of stuff accumulated and stored in the loft, just about on top of everything now, couple more weeks now and the move should be completed (hopefully)
