my shutter stuck and this photo fired off when it finally released.
at first i was annoyed, ready to commit this photo to my outtakes.
but now, it's one of my favorites.
When I was working on this Labyrinth piece, a 4th grader named Maria saw it and got very excited. It’s one of her favorite movies, so I promised her I’d make her a copy for her birthday. School is closed tomorrow for the storm we are supposed to get, so I gave it to her tonight. She was very pleased. Grab a print of this for $12 bucks. “It’s just very whimsical. It’s not like any other labyrinth I’ve ever seen,” says 17-year old Francesca Farris. As part of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, she recruited MECA camp kids and Sixth Ward residents to help out with creating the maze of bricks, flowers, and mosaics.
Photoluminescent labyrinth is placed in Metawanpe Lawn from Monday, April 18 to Monday, April 25, 2016.

Due to the Gay Pride march going through at exactly the same time I was unable to get a shot of the performance's Iron Man together with the real Iron Man.
B1 Labyrinths (Part of My Fierce Festival)
Needless Allies
A guided tour of the city centre where actors
mingle with crowds and audiences find dramas
in neglected alleyways.
One city. Six performers. Countless characters.
Multiple directions. All beginning whilst
travelling on a bicycle, ‘B1 Labyrinths’ is a
guided performance tour round Birmingham city
centre. Familiar places will be made unfamiliar,
landmarks turned inside out, forgotten places
will be brought centre stage. Somewhere in the
thronging city streets are actors, but will you be
able to spot them as they mingle with crowds and
find drama in neglected alleyways?

Labyrinth under Kitchen Mesa at Ghost Ranch on August 2. Inspired the haiku found in red Ravine post, prayer to ghost ranch labyrinth haiku.
"The Labyrinth" was created in 1985 and is similar in design to an ancient turf maze in Saffron Walden. It is reputedly one of the largest mazes ever created, with two miles of pathways leading to a solitary oak tree at its centre, symbolising peace.
Labyrinth Spider. Taken at Oxwich Point, Gower, South Wales. There were quite a few of these in the bushes. Was lucky to see one in action!
