I found this yesterday at a local charity/thrift/op shop. I was completely captured by the lines of this simple machine.
At home, I discovered the Dymo 1470 was made in 1970, and won the prestigious iF Design Award. I can see why: it's a work of art.
After labelling some of the obscure switches where I live, I thought about how people are often labelled (which I don't like at all). I was once described by my boss as a 'Type C personality'. I thought this detail needed a label all of its own, which I shall later discard, along with all the other labels that have been applied to me over the years.

Golden Circle began as a grower cooperative in the 1940's with the pineapple cannery commencing production in Northgate in 1947. Initially producing around 40,000 tonnes of canned pineapple annually, in addition to some canned fruit salad, tropical fruit chutneys and fruit juice cordials, the Northgate cannery now produces over 150,000 tonnes per year of canned pineapple, fruit juices and cordials.

When this label was attached it was tied with a simple string. After bouncing around in a drawer for several years the string has fallen into the threads it was made of. Still works to hold the label on, so no problem.
