These flowers were found in Hall's Pond, a small park near the BU campus. Here, one can observe natural biological processes in a relaxed environment while talking a pleasant stroll and chewing on some salix from a freshly plucked willow branch. Taking a quick glance around, it is obvious there is plenty of plant life in the midst of transformation. As an example, take a peek at these flowers. Really look at them. Look at their colors, their vibrant way of reflecting the sunshine, and their determination to grow despite of the metal fencing around them. The daisies here are in different progressions of transformation – some are beginning their lives while others are slowly decaying. Some have lost their petals, while others are starting to form theirs. The life cycle is evident. The hierarchy of newer, stronger plants overtaking the weaker and older ones will always occur; especially in this picture, as the newer flowers overreach their older counterparts for the sun. Nature is always transforming, one little minute at a time.

I setup most of the equipment today. It almost looks like a functioning lab. There is another bay like this to the right. I'll get some more pictures later.

O SESI Lab sediou a cerimônia de entrega da 31ª edição do Prêmio Jovem Cientista, que teve como tema “Resposta às Mudanças Climáticas: Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação como Aliadas”. As pesquisas premiadas destacaram soluções inovadoras para o enfrentamento dos desafios climáticos e reforçaram o papel estratégico da ciência na construção de um futuro mais sustentável.
A iniciativa é do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), em parceria com a Fundação Roberto Marinho, com patrocínio master da Shell Brasil e apoio do SESI Lab. A edição contou com 919 inscrições em cinco categorias, contemplando estudantes, mestres, doutores e instituições de ensino.
Durante a cerimônia, também foi anunciado o tema da 32ª edição do prêmio: “Inteligência Artificial para o bem comum”.
